After today's Nvidia driver, I'm getting slightly more fps. Yesterday it was holding barely 50. Now it's averaging 60fps. Idk what they changed but it's better now.
Performance has been good for me, but it's definitely a good idea to stay away from the presets. I remember the "High" quality AA in particular being problematic in Origins. Low looked great by itself, meanwhile High seemed to cause stutters for me regardless of FPS.
In this one I did a few tests with the new Nvidia drivers and a GTX 1080:
Ultra preset + benchmark gave me a result of 66fps.
Very High preset + benchmark gave me a result of 78 fps.
Very High preset modified to reduce AA to Low, disable DOF, increase Shadows to Ultra + benchmark gave me a result of 83 fps.
I strongly recommend staying away from the default Ultra preset.
The fighting system in Origins was really great imo.. much better than in similar games (Witcher 3 etc).. and many times better than in the first AssCreed games. The previous location was awesome too, this is most likely a skip for you.

So according to UBI Macedonia is Greek!! Thanks for the support ubisoft Man they dodged a bullet there and turned it to a positive marketing tool...or else they would have failed in our market....
its fan made .... also wasnt what we call "ancient greece" just bunch of citystates with same religion and similar hellenistic culture not wholesome entity and macedonia was just one that were closest to thwm and even ruled over most of them alter on

It's semantics. That's why we are called Hellenic Republic.
Game is quite ok up til now, I stopped right before making the big trip away from your starting island, solved every quest and location and got to Level 7 by now. 4 hrs ingame, so that is more or less what it takes to 'complete' the first island(s).
Oh, I can already feel the grind in this, but I guess I'm of the rare type of gamers who loves a sloooooow approach to leveling and upgrades. Shit, I even loved Diablo3, when it was megagrindy and hard to get any good gear at all.
I won't care about the sidequests being mostly the same, however I do expect some unique and great missions when playing more of the main quests. Let's see how this will work out now that I left 'home'.
And DAMN...I have been rooting for Sparta all my life up to now, but they were some really evil and mean people. The males at least. I am looking forward to killing 'The Wolf' (no spoilers here ) right now...
I'm back home in 3 hrs and then back to ancient Greece...relax JB, nothing to bitch about right now. :>
are there any deserts or other landscapes other than cities and the sea?
There are no deserts in Greece
Yes there is. Lemnos. afaik there is forests, snowy area, typical rocky areas.. and it seems Lemnos is represented in Odyssey too ( http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Lemnos )

Lemnos is a small island it has sand dunes yes but that hardly counts as a desert, i've actually been there once on one of my diving trips in Greece
Yeah it's 100 - 150 MB usually of padding from current trends of the code they add, it doesn't really do much on it's own though so the size is less of a issue than it might seem or should be at least.
EDIT: And I suppose we don't have all that many totally unprotected Denuvo games to compare against as the cracking method still leaves it in but circumvents the protection or activation part so it's not removed in entirety though a number of games had it patched out and these can be used and usually show around 100 MB or so of padding data.
