Yep, bought the Redmi Note 4 for my mom. Performance wise it's excellent for that price.
Even the camera is not as bad as one would expect.
Definately better than the same priced crap by for example Samsung.

Swapped that mate 10 lite for a Nokia 6.1 in the end. Still getting used to android and Android one... So many apps to choose from

I went with a Nokia 3.1. Suited my needs, waifu forced me to get a new one when she ordered the Nokia 7 plus. In the end she had to go with a bigger phone. Can't say there is much diversity on phone design these days.
Anywho...
Quite happy with it. I was still on the Xperia Ray.

tl;dr: nokia (hmd global, nokia is dead) send private data to servers in china (sim number, location, phone id etc). confirmed only for the 7 plus so far. ofc hmd global said it was by accident and was fixed with a software update, sure. accident...

OK, so I dropped my Mi 8 and it's a goner (repair is quite expensive). So I switched back to my Galaxy S6, but the battery of that poor phone was abysmal, so I ordered an exchange battery. Long story short, that phone is a goner too now
I need a new phone. Don't want to spend a fortune. I was thinking about the Mi 9 but I really wanted to have a regular headphone and stereo sound. The one+ 7 pro seems to offer the stereo sound, but it's way too expensive. (820€ish?)
I would've loved to go for the Mi Mix 3 as it has the very nice magnetic slider feature, but I don't want the snapdragon 845.
But the Mi Mix 3 5g seems to have a Snapdragon 855! But it doesn't have the great camera of the Mi 9. Not that I disliked the camera of my Mi 8 (it's the same as in the Mi Mix 3), but I'm not going to spend 599€ on a Mi Mix 3 5g, when I can get the same phone + notch => Mi9 for 170€ less 
Any other phones in the ~450€ zone that can compete with the Mi9? (it has even higher benchmark scores than the one+ 7 pro)

I'm looking into Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro or Mi 9 SE
the reviews said that they use it's own ios clone desktop skin?
can you turn that off?
my fallback choise is S9+ - it's the same price as MI 9 SE and has 2GB more RAM
