The Marvel Cinematic Universe might be expanding again. Yes, that means there's more MCU material for you to watch, but this time it is actually a good — potentially great — thing. According to Variety, Marvel's parent company Disney is planning to add a number of limited series that focus on your favorite MCU characters who haven't gotten their own standalone films to its new streaming service.
Marvel naturally didn't confirm the news — Marvel doesn't answer to anybody and does whatever Marvel wants — but Variety reports that each series would be about six to eight episodes (not 13 like the Netflix Marvel shows. Please don't make them 13!) and feature deeper dives into the adventures of characters without solo films. The most exciting part is that the actors who played those parts in the MCU movies are expected to return for the limited series. That's a huge coup and raises the price of each of these potential limited series quite a bit, so Marvel likely wouldn't confirm anything until it had locked contracts from the potential stars anyway.
Character spoilers from Infinity War but related to these shows
Spoiler:
Variety specifically named Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) as potential centers for the new series, which means that someone somewhere might have heard our desperate pleas to see Hiddleston back in action after Loki was killed by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War (it remains to be seen if that death stuck, but we're pretty sure it did). MCU overlord Kevin Feige is also reportedly very involved with the projects, which still don't have writers or directors attached as they are still in early development.
The Disney streaming service is expected to launch in 2019.
I thought Tom Hiddleston wanted out of Loki's role. His portrayal of this character for me was always meh.

Brie Larson has as much charisma as a dead log. Gawd... what an asinine casting move. I'm already super-bored watching that trailer. Maybe if she decides to show up on-site and actually "want to act".. Makes Wonder Woman look so much better.

Iger spoke to THR about a variety of topics related to Disney, and that includes the plan going forward for the 20th Century Fox Marvel properties. Those properties include X-Men and Fantastic Four, and at one point Iger was asked if Marvel would absorb the X-Men franchise and if Feige would be overseeing it.
"I think it only makes sense," Iger said. "I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."
That was followed up with a proposition of "so Deadpool could become an Avenger?"
"Kevin's got a lot of ideas," Iger said. "I'm not suggesting that's one of them. But who knows?"
Iger also addressed how they plan to integrate all the new talent coming over from 20th Century Fox:
"Very good question. We’re going to take the best people from both companies and that's who's gonna basically be on the playing field for us. Meaning, talent will prevail. Fox Searchlight is a great example. You look at FX, NatGeo. Yeah, you’re buying libraries and brands, but you're also buying the people. I'm not gonna talk about specific people right now except to say that I've met with virtually the entire senior management team at Fox and I'm not only fully engaged with them on what the possibilities for them might be but I'm excited about the prospects."
During the company's quarterly earnings call today, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that a live-action television series centered around Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is in development at Disney+. This confirms news that was first reported in September of this year, which suggested that Loki and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) TV shows were on the way.
Marvel will no longer be willing to give to Netflix but the bare minimum as they will want to keep the best characters, actors, storylines, and production values for themselves. This leads to a lot of tension, "creative differences", and cancellations.

I feel that by this point Netflix should just give up every Marvel properties and be done with all the incoming, potential bullshit for good.

Netflix has started cancelling even really cheap to make but critically acclaimed series, simply because they didn't own their rights so they didn't see any long-term benefits.
The series received widespread acclaim upon its debut, currently holding a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “American Vandal” also won a Peabody Award for its first season and was nominated for an Emmy in the outstanding writing for a limited series category.
Part of the decision to cancel the series was no doubt because it was produced for Netflix by an outside studio. The streamer, like most in the TV space, is increasingly looking to produce things in-house in an effort to control the global rights to a project.
American Vandal's cancellation comes as Netflix is starting to whittle down its scripted originals from outside studios, recently axing All About the Washingtons, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, all of which hailed from ABC Studios.
I give the remaining MCU series on Netflix at most 1 more season before they are axed.
