"There will be no end to the troubles of humanity, until philosophers become kings, or kings become philosophers.", Plato.
"Hyperbole will destroy us all.", Matt Dillahunty.
"The hyperbole, the demonization of the other opinion and the unwillingness to even read the opposing opinion destroys the so important political discussions necessary for the well functioning of society.", Couleur

As we are part of the simulation, were that the case, would we ever be able to figure it out, actually?
Haven't seen the video, I don't have a lot of internets at the moment. For me, it's just a phylosophical question, just more rooted in reality and science than religions.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

This, both of them explained their points well enough in their respective interviews, don't need this fucking hippie explaining it to me Laughing

That nonsense he was spouting during the Brian Cox 'interview' was enough for me to never click on his podcast again :>

I'm sure it will all sound nice when on acid... Laughing

Super Youtube dudebros.

The idea is interesting to ponder but ultimately pointless. (Like Il padrino said) It helps me as a more modern example to explain the cartesian hyperbolical and methodical doubt on the existence of the physical world leading to the cogito. It is a fine thought experiment for the students.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
