It (2017) - 6/10
only reedemable because the kids were somewhat entertaining, and the clown looked menacing until the last third act

Isle of Dogs - 5/10
oh well... Fantastic Mr Fox was way better. This felt like a contrived kids tale... with an awesome cast. Such talent much wow... NOPE.

Cargo (2018) - 7/10
Pretty good acting from Martin Freeman, touchy-feeling ending, and the sensation that an aborigin movie about an unknown menace could be stellar!

oh man... I might have not liked the original too much but Kurt Russel was the best part of it. Rock overdose is getting tiresome recently.

Anyway:
Blazing Saddles - I love Mel Brooks but this was disappointing. Few funny moments but like 3 or 4/10. I did not got into it at all. Maybe that's because I've never seen his old movies but grew up with his Dracula, Spaceballs and robin hood which I loooove

Hereditary 5/10

Nicely shot, well acted... I just couldn't take it seriously. I was laughing at most of the 'scary' stuff.
It doesn't help that it's pretty much The VVitch II. So you already go: "Been there done that". Same slow buildup, getting crazier till the end.

I absolutely love that they didn't go with the cheap jump scares though.

Upgrade(d) rev. 8/10: Faster, Stronger, Hardyier

What a wild ride, cheers guys for the recommendation, it was indeed as enjoyable as I thought it would be. It's not easy to find a low-budget cybersci-fi movie with competent production values, consistent visual style, well directed/acted and free from pear-shaped augmentations from the shoddy Hollymarket, props to Whannell and Tom Marchall Green. I appreciated the movie's conciseness like an old-school action romp from the 90s, it just does its own pulsating thing zero fucks given and the ending is the chipset on top of the cake.

Summer of 84 - 6.5/10

Good movie but nothing New or special. Disturbia meets random 80's Kids movie.
While the Sets and everything looked good and straight out of the 80's they fucked it all up with the soundtrack. I dont need a 80's track in every second scene just to be reminded that this movie is Set in the 80's. It was just annoying. There is already enough 80's vibe without the constant music in the background.

I have not finished it yet (due to the second party falling asleep) but I think this movie would have had better scores and reception if they had made it after first Stranger Things. But now it just worn out idea full of 80's tropes - bunch of kids on bikes, a girl showing half way through, Carpenters-like soundtrack and so on.
Right know I'm full of it with ST 2, IT remake, etc.
Still it's a competent movie to the point I've seen it and François Simard is a decent director and I wish him well. Especially that I loved Turbo Kid.

Will give my score after I've finished watching this.

As I wrote before it's full of 80's tropes. The girl character was totally unnecessary and written in just to fill the trope.
But it's a competent movie and I liked the ending.

Incredibles 2 - 8/10
Excellent movie, but just a tad away from being as good as the first one.
Abit dark compared to their usual movies, so i wonder if children will like this one as much. Then again, it has a superbaby in it so I guess thats enough Smile

Rewatch:
Airplane - 8/10. Classic comedy. Still fun
Ghostbusters - Still a 9/10 classic
Life of Brian - Now that is a movie relevant in 2018 lol. Love that Monty Python but Holy Grail was always funnier and this one was more metaphorical/satirical. 7/10

First watch:
Young Frankenstein - 6/10. Jokes were okish but I liked the lighting the most + Gene Wilder
History of the World - 5/10 some funny gags but that's it
One thing that can be said for all Mel Brooks movies - he has a taste for nice boobies and likes the cleavage on his actresses Laughing

Now... for the most interesting part - Event Horizon and In the Mouth of Madness are some of my fav films. Looking for more Sam Neil I've found...Possession (1981)
Holy shit how is this not a classic? I've just finished watching it and I don't even know what to think. I was riveted all the way through. The acting is hard to describe as is the whole movie... It is easily 8-9/10 material with a hidden gem tag.
Kubrick? Lynch? P.T.?
I recommend watching it if You like the above directors. Just make sure it's evening. You are home alone and drink something good.
I am kinda shocked and it makes me think how many great movies I've not seen yet. My watched movies counter is hitting 1000 mark (I am rating everything I see/seen on filmweb.pl ever since) and there are still many I've not seen that are worth watching.

Cloverfield Paradox - 4/10
Not only I've seen a couple of movies with similar plot (energy crisis, parallel worlds), the slap on cloverfield reference was a lol moment. Good that it was something to play in the background while I was focusing on something else.

All three you listed are great. In the Mouth of Madness has a slight Lovecraftian atmosphere to it while Event Horizon is like a sci-fi version of Hellraiser (not like Hellraiser IV Razz ).

Slight? Smile HP Lovecraft has a book called In the Mountain of Madness, so I consider it pretty much a Lovecraft-movie, or at the very least, a homage to his work.

True. The main difference is that it's not related to the Cthulhu mythos. Either way, it's a brilliant and underrated atmospheric horror movie. Unusual role for Sam Neill but he's brilliant.

The Guest - 6/10

Honestly, I expected more. It somewhat fails between an 80s hommage and a modern (à la Drive) aesthetic film. Dan Stevens and Maika Monroe were alright.

Epic 3D (2013) - 5/10
Even if the thematic is somewhat well-meaned with its ecological flair, the movie had a fair share of script problems and ill-advised characters. Who wrote the snail and slug? Wtf. Gets points for the strong use of 3D from the second act onwards.

Tangled 3D (2010) - 6.5/10
Yeah yeah, I'm in a 3D cartoon mood lately
Charming movie with some great funny moments (kudos to the snuggly duckling scene!) and nice characters. Sucks that it's the same ol' Disney formula after all. Same ending, same imposed colorful no grey happiness. 3D had its uses, but nothing spectacular compared to the aforementioned movie.

Un-Terrible. To be honest the best of the series and a reboot. Some sick and grousome murder-deaths. Also someone who did it, doesn't like kids.

6.5/10
