The self-contained cases/monster-of-the-week episodes of the recent pseudo rebooseasons were quite decentish in my opinion, too bad the main "storyline" involving its ridiculous mythology and Ancientaliens(tm)-like logic dragged the whole thing down and turned it into a circus of cheese where nothing made sense and the actors became parodies of themselves. It was a real shame to see Mulder and Scully getting dusted off only to let the green alien pearman dictate their fate
this is one hell of a series which did NOT age well at all. avoid at all cost!
i enjoyed it a lot during my teenage wonder years, being stoned beyond reality, watching scully followed by watching MTV's Chill Out Zone
but will never watch this crap ever again or I have to go back to passing the nights with some friends and 25grams of weed, a bag of sweets from the night shop and a half broken psx console for which we had to put the copied fifa disk into the freezer to have it loaded for 2 times 45 minutes game

Discussing the upcoming 30th anniversary of The X-Files premiering on Fox, Carter said, “I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast.”

The writing of the last few seasons proved that diversity™ couldn't be blamed for it being garbage. Should kill the series for good now
Lol yeah, indeed.. would require some pretty talented director for something actually good. Those legendary kind of series are better left untouched.. but miracles do happen - Twin Peaks third season was pretty damn good and worthy of coming out !
But yeah, this attempt won't be it

I can hardly think of a more hopeless situation than trying to revive X-Files whilst tailoring it to the newest generations of serial Netflixers. Just let the Smoking Man saga rest peacefully in all its misery.
