What is it? The sequel to Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider
When it is out? Mid to late 2018, maybe
Shadow of the Tomb Raider developers: Crystal Dynamics...or Eidos Montreal?
SOTTR publisher: Square Enix
So, we know the next Tomb Raider is coming. What's less clear is when. We do have our suspicions that it'll be mid to late 2018, though.
The reason for this? Well, in the tweet which announced the game's existence, Square Enix said that "it won't be very long between the official reveal and when you can play."
The official reveal is set to be at a "major event in 2018". This makes us think the game will first be shown at E3 2018 and released perhaps around October/November time.
This is, of course, all speculation on our part but we do know thanks to the tweet that we'll be able to play the game at some point this year, and we imagine it'll be shortly after E3 in June.

"Shadow of the Tomb Raider will not run 60 FPS while in 4K. To allow for a more customised gameplay experience, the game will include two visual modes: ‘4K Resolution’ which runs in 4K resolution at 30 FPS, and ‘High Resolution’ which is targeting 1080p at 60 FPS.
"Both modes will feature a wide variety of additional enhancements such as HDR, improved physically-based rendering, hardware tessellation, anisotropic filtering, additional dynamic foliage, and more."
I read this game will cost around $100 million to make and that doesn't include cost to promote the game which is another $25-30 million. Damn games are expensive today.
Is it normal that I was really excited for TR 2013 release, then was still excited for ROTTR but a little less, and then not at all for Shadow of the Tomb Raider ?
Almost forgot that it was coming in a few weeks...

Nah I'm on a budget and I don't think I'm going to buy it at full price. I'll wait for a price drop. My money's going to RDR2 and Darksiders 3.

Something is very wrong, I'd advise going to the doctor ASAP.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider comes with a New Game Plus option to let players make their way through the story all over again with some playstyle-specific paths for players to embark on.
As with most New Game Plus modes, the Shadow of the Tomb Raider feature lets players repeat the story with the unlocked content usable once again. This means that the skills, weapons, outfits, equipment upgrades, and gear that players acquire through their first playthrough will persist to the second.
A unique feature to this New Game Plus mode is the chance to choose a Path to master, the Paths catering to different playstyles. There’s a Serpent Path, a Jaguar Path, and an Eagle Path, and each one puts an emphasis on different combat tactics whether they involve stealthy takedowns or close-ranged altercations.
Path of the Serpent
You gameplay features an emphasis on stealth and subterfuge. Take down your foes one by one, using sound and decoys to sow chaos among their ranks. Mud and camoflague lets you lash out your foes before slipping back into the shadows.
Path of the Jaguar
Your gameplay features an emphasis on hunting and combat. Strike down your enemies with an unrivaled ferocity. Your agility and close-ranged prowess tear through your enemies with knife takedowns.
Path of the Eagle
Gameplay features an emphasis on traversal and resourcefulness. Observe your enemies from afar, scouting out to plan your next attack. Traverse with ease, attacking enemies from long range.
funny how the developers (or at least the team responsible for the trailers) treat their costumers stupid/idiot.
They put the photo mode into a trailer.
