headshot it's very easy, you can use an app on pc, CDNSP, to download games, updates, dlc straight from Nintendo servers to your pc, then transfer to sd card and install.

Make sure the serial number is one of the hackable one... what is the beginning of it ?XAJ700?
Something > XAJ700420 should be patched.

Haha well the main reason for the purchase was for me and my daughter to play together so I got Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and Pokemon Tournament. Not bothered about Doom, Skyrim or Wolfenstein 2. Definitely getting Super Mario Party in October though!
Also thinking about Zelda: Breath of the Wild even though I already played it through on Wii U. And Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Good to know and sounds simple. Is it reversible? Void my warranty? Or will Nintendo permanent ban me?

The serial number starts XAJ7002.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Xenoblade 2 is great and soon in September the expansion is coming out, which is a 30 hour campaign.

So your switch can be owned, it’s hardware is vulnerable.
Congrats, you don’t have to pay for any of its games now.
Welcome back to the instantleech isodemo club
Oh and while it’s reversible, Nintendo will ban you from their online services. And the ban isn’t reversible. That being said if you are willing to do some experiment (block some servers on your router) it could be interesting to see how it goes (but don’t count on me, you never know).

"Will ban you" is misleading. From what I read, if you remove the dongle and restart, all is fine again if you don't go online with pirated games. Unless someone wants to correct me, you CAN go online with legit games when you haven't used the exploit.
My idea is to use the USB ethernet connection to control with certainty whether my Switch goes online or not. If I want to go online for whatever reason, I reboot without dongle, do what I want online, then restart with the jig and dongle but unplug the ethernet cable. This should be completely safe from getting banned, right ?

A single time of using the exploit is already logged and the information could be seen by nintendo the next time you go online, even if you do that without the exploit at that time.
There is no safe method, if you need the Switch to play online, you shouldn't use the exploit.

Unless Nintendo heavily encrypts all this, surely it shouldn't be too difficult for the hack to stop anything from being logged? From what I read, it's not as gloomy as you guys make it sound.

This. This is what I meant to headshot if he is fine for experiments I have a few ideas.
Otherwise yes you will be banned on OFW with legit games.
@headshot : that’s right. You can also fully updated to the latest fw

What's the brand, type, etc.? It may well be badly formatted.

I bought the 200gb version. Once my SX Pro arrives (hopefully next week) I'll test it out and let you know if I have any issues.

It has been told already in this very same thread many times :
if you enable autoRCM, the Switch won't turn off even if you turn it off from the main OS (OFW or CFW, whatever).
It will just reboot to RCM (black screen) and thus drain battery because for some reason RCM drains battery even if it's a recovery mode.
Only way to have it 100% OFF with autoRCM (and thus no battery drain), is to power it off manually (long press on power for 12 seconds, like old ATX cases) or boot to hekate/SX OS payload, and power off from the payload menu.
But IF you ever plug it back to a wall charger or the Dock, or a computer (aka, USB plugged in), even if 100% OFF, it will start again (like when you plug a phone that is OFF) and will boot it again in RCM (and thus drain battery).
So either leave it unplugged after turning it off properly OR just turn it off and let it sleep in the OS, it will act properly.
PS : you didn't kill the battery. It just take a long time to be able to boot back after draining the battery that way, can take up to 6h to charge it to just be able to boot it up. You don't have to disable autoRCM.

Nintendo banned the new cert CDNSP had been using.. if you look closely though, you can find another one (or just dump yours instead of using public ones, eventually if yours is banned anyway, it means they'll ban every one)

So, I´ll buy a Switch tomorrow.
Do I need to order an SX Pro to hack it?
What about the OS license?
