and?

it makes sense to have own service, when your games sells millions of copies... Why would they help to Valve make more money?

It's not like someone will boycot Fallout, TES, Doom(...) because these games won't be on Steam.

As long as its only for this online crap, who cares? The trouble will be if they're retarded enough to pull this shit on the next main TES\nuFO game...

Still I think that they're more interested in bleeding money from the console derpas, those poor knobs should stop dreaming about free mods as soon as possible Laughing

No? You underestimate my 'stupidity'. Razz

It's not so much about Steam though, I'm just sick and tired of everyone and their dog having a client and scatter my library with no benefit for me. They save costs, they sure don't lower prices.

true.
On the contrary in poorer regions steam is much cheaper than the competition.
Only uplay started to adapt prices according to region.

Taht's why they sell less copies with their own clients and Origin puts out crap like origin access imo.

Howard said during the E3 presentation that modding was coming after release and said that Bethesda loves modding. He didn't confirm it would be CC only though. But I could have sworn Howard saying private servers were going to be an option so that could open up non-CC mods.

So I guess they are probably using this to test the waters to see if the sales numbers will be a lot lower then the Steam releases and if so they will probably just use some excuse like it's a new gameplay experience that the fans just did not get instead of it being only available from their client.

I have not bothered looking into the client but I am curious if they will even bother doing sales at all or if it will end up like the Microsoft store where even when there are sales, the percent offs are still small so not that big of a discount. It will make for an interesting winter shopping season to see if any deals pop up for the game.

Ah, the ESO route, I guess. Let everyone buy non-steam copy and then release it on steam a year or two later without having any means of using the same account. Embarassed

Is ESO still popular? How do they keep the "endgame going ?

Was ESO such a success that they felt the need to make falllout an online game?

ESO has a ton of content - far more than the average MMO - and it's really well executed. Once you complete one "tree" of the story arch (there's three in total), you can do the other two trees with the same character. After that, you got Morrowind and Somerset DLC. After that, you got the end game battles - I only once had a go and it seemed fun but my builds are PvE and you need very specific PvP builds to be actually good at it.

suprized nobody here upset about the news that the beta progres made will staying into the main release, basicly meaning anyone exploiting or using bugs during beta will keep all their stuff , or have unfair advantage when game starts

that to me sounds like bethesda has zero clue about how to do multiplayer right and just wants more beta sales and dont give a fuck about balanced environment, possible going for, well u can buy catchup crates route.

Ud have to be nuts to not do wipes during beta in a game like this rofl

But that would imply someone actually gave two shits about this game and intends to play it. Laughing

Calling it a beta (or well, B.E.T.A.) was real scummy though since it's nothing but jumpstart into the game for preorders.

Can I just interject and just mention I think this game is a hideous use of the IP, a moneymaking scam designed to pull in those who thought buying lunchboxes in Fallout Shelter was emerging gameplay, and are not concerned about playing an actual story based engrossing game - and should all probably just be shot to clense the gene pool?

Ok, please carry on.

Dunno if it got confirmed before but I just watched the Q&A for fallout 76 on bethesda's twitch.

Apparently there are cardpacks that you can unpack and get rarer cards too that you can use to customize your character perkwise.

They didn't say how you get those besides lvling up yet but sounds fishy(p2w) to me.

it doesnt fund ur elder scrolls, it will make it suffer, i predict online only , lootcrate , tradecards , payed mods for next elder scrolls. they want everyone logged in onto their SHITESDA launcher. steam is buckling and stopped growing and is losing market share and they will grab that share at all costs.

I still don't know the point or the end game of this.

https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-pvp-guide/

Quote:
Killing an unwilling player in PvP gets you no reward or XP, and will cost you money if another player claims your bounty.

Quote:
"We turn the assholes into interesting content," said Howard. "They appear on your map as a red star. Everybody sees them and they have a bounty on their head. And that bounty comes out of their own caps. And they can't see the other players on the map."

___

How about releasing some proper gameplay demo (not that E3 video) so people can have some idea about this game? Neutral

If you cant buy perk card packs can you buy a currency with which you can buy the packs though? Or will you be able to in the future? Why else implement them?
