I‘ve mostly just read through ocn and other random hw forums on the net. But here is a list for you : https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f13/die-ultimative-hardwareluxx-samsung-8gb-b-die-liste-alle-hersteller-04-08-18-a-1161530.html

Its german, sadly but you should get it.

Most of the high-end kits should be Samsung b-die. I‘ve bought a 16g G.Skill Flare x 3200 CL14 kit at the time for its supposed compatibility to Ryzen, but thats just marketing. Any B-Die kit would have done. They are the most expensive though.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Erhm so... my current list

Intel i9 9900k ~ 480€
2080 ti - have not decided which yet
G.Skill TridentZ 3200 CL14 2 x 16 GB ~ 428€

Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Master (coolest board) ~ 266€
or
ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate (10gbit ethernet) ~ 295€

1000GB Samsung 970 Pro M.2 ~ 302€
RAID 5: 3 x WD 4TB Black ~ 561€

be quiet! Straight Power 11 Modular 550 Watt ~ 80€
Did not actually check if this is still enough. And pc parts picker says I don't have enough eps connectors with this setup. What does that even mean?

Phanteks Enthoo Pro windowless version ~ 99€
simple looking case that should have very good airflow, when fans are added

Noctua NH-D15 Tower Kühler ~ 81€
Noctua NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000 PWM x 4 ~ 100€

2400€ without the >1000€ gpu price ffs. Am I overdoing it? Laughing

In OP I said i wouldn't go for 4K@60Hz, but that would be nice actually. Perhaps using DLSS is enough.

@ KC
Running an OLED as a monitor for months without issue now. I use dark settings though, which helps. Smile

Do you need the PC immediately? If not, wait for Zen 2.

I would like to wait for Zen 2 or ice lake intel cpus, but both are quite a few months off still (at least july i think?). My current PC is prohibiting, partially due to insufficient performance and because there is at least one hardware problem. I started this thread almost 5 months ago...

So unfortunately no. Smile
