Not sure who they are making the games for, fans of their BF franchise (rated M for Mature) or teenage Fortnite fans

Trying to kill two birds with one stone. However, fuck the fortnite bird.

The worst in all this is that mechanically BFV in some places goes the right way (ammo, healing, repairing) and still they try shit like br, vanity kid customization, changing history and make the game about gender and race.

I want my WW2 games to be about using WW2 technology, I don't care about it being "historical-accurate", because that would quite honestly suck.

So I am positively optimistic about this one, for now.

Hmm yeah and when was BF ever historical-accurate anyway? I mean where were these ppl when BF1 came out? It's so extremely historical inaccurate i don't even know where to start and the older games where not much better but put some women in their arcady vaguely WWII style shooter (and we all know EA only does this so they can sell more cosmetics since their lootbox scheme failed they don't care about gender politics or whatever bs at all) and suddenly ppl are up in arms Laughing

Don't think you can honestly compare BF1 and BFV in that regard.
But yeah, include women and the group of flamers suddenly becomes a horde, for some reason Razz

Well those people aren't really a big group (in the overall picture) but their voices are boosted by the drama bait journalists. People were bitching about that in BF1 as well but there wasn't paid much attention to it. No controversy to be had out of that after all.

I also said something about the game not being WW:I, I enjoyed the game during beta. It was fun and then I never bought it... the usual.

Re-installed Battlefield I. Surprisingly still enjoying it. The DLC maps are pretty cool (In the Name of the Tsar). So looking forward to this. Very Happy

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Yeah, not a big fan of map design in recent games.

I've been watching various streamers play the alpha, and honestly I'm not impressed. It's pretty, but that's about it. I think the days of being excited by a new Battlefield are long gone.

Thankfully there's Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

If you mean the cyborg arm, I took a photo of one of those at Imperial War Museum just two days ago Smile the mohawks you can find in documentaries about American Paratroopers preparing for d-day.

Edit: but i doubt one would be of much use with that arm Very Happy
Tbh the just need to give us the option to hide stuff like that and we are all fine.

They won't as it's probably seen as a loss of potential income if they let people have that option to turn it on/off.

The injuries sustained during World War 2 led to a lot of work on prosthesis.
This article discuses the subject: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-04-21/how-war-amputees-drove-the-prosthetics-industry/7342626
I wouldn't be surprised if they based their design on that article, since the forearm + claw look similar to what is found in there.

A Japanese soldier near the end of WW2: https://i.imgur.com/dmYtIMd.jpg

This one is more unbelievable than what's in the game, but it was shown 5 years after WW2: https://timedotcom.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/140912-artificial-limb-1950.jpg
Article: http://time.com/3880912/battery-powered-prosthetic-arm-a-postwar-tech-marvel/

Would you be at a disadvantage with a prosthesis? 100%. But DICE already included technology which only existed as experiments in previous games.
Having soldiers with prosthesis is less "steampunk" (as per the article) than some of the Behemoths in Battlefield 1. But having experimental vehicles, and accessories, adds variety.

I personally have a bigger issue with the paint and the bright colours. Not because it's unrealistic, but because it reminds me of Fortnite. I'm not a fan.
