I changed to this php scipt:
https://github.com/SteamDatabase/SalienCheat

Idles hard/medium only, switches the planets (when needed) and works in cmd...

Apparently you just have to play it once to get into the game draw.

In the github for the idler it's written that playing the game doesn't affect your chance for winning.

I use this script - https://github.com/South-Paw/salien-script-js

It runs from the windows PowerShell and doesn't even need Steam running (neither app nor browser).

It's a raffle with every participant put in a pool and a bot chooses one of them. They say more time a planet give you better chance so I guess each hour spent gives +1 more entry. It's still a slim chance as there are only 400 copies for each game for at least a million accounts every time. There is also a way to enter the giveaway without even entering Steam (for people who are on a vacation and or without internet during the sale) with sending them a note card to Valve's mailbox and I don't know how they add these names. But who will even send these cards Laughing .

Well, they say time spent matters but even if it's true the chance to win is still like winning a lottery. On the script bot I see around 1 million players total for all planets when a planet is about to be 100% conquered. Almost all of them if not all had at least one battle on all planets so it makes at least 800k players on a single planet raffle. Now let's say theoretically all of them had on average of 3 hours spent (with all the bots it's probably much higher though) making you 'fight' for a game against 2 and a half million others (if 1 hour = +1 entry). And let's say you have 24 hours on a single planer giving you 24 entries. There are 4 games with 4 giveaway copies each = 1600 games which means you have total of ~38k entries. Against that 2 and a half million others you get a 1.5% chance to win one game each time Neutral . That second account of your was extremely lucky to win with something like a 0.001% probability Laughing .

And if Valve lie the win percentage is even lower because you will have only 1600 (1 entry for 4 games with 400 copies) entries against almost 1 billion and 300k (800 000 x 4 x 400). So about 0.20% for everyone no matter the time spent. That's just theoretically. The total players for each raffle are probably more.

Aaaaand those bots are banned. Probably to come back next sale though. And who knows how many more bots are out there to win.

He/They can still earn cards as far as I understand. Those bots are probably only banned from entering the giveaway. Valve earn nothing from giving free games to bots (and will only give them headache when those accounts are for sale on the grey market) but they earn good with fees on card sells.

By the way, the next Rank 5 badge is at level 16. Rank 6 probably at Level 20 Mind Is Full Of Fuck

Set that up now too, it's the best one so far I think because it doesn't require browser to run and is a little faster because of it.

it's just changing planets all the time for me. is that normal?
also low planets/zones all the time

The current 5 active planets are more than 70% captured which means the scripters already cleared the Hard and Medium zones. The Isometric planet is at 94% Captured so probably in about an hour it will be replaced with a new fresh planet with Hard zones.
