Good. CS GO is incredibly popular among kids and my nephew who is 11, is obsessed with loot boxes and getting a knife. He spent about €80 on keys so far - Valve should be fucking ashamed. The thing is that, unlike Battlefront II, these things can be traded and sometimes sell like a fortune so it's 100%, clear as day, gambling, for kids.
Oh well, now I'm a proud citizen of Luxembough
Maybe next time I'll move it to Rajesh country
That all said, I think it's a good move to lock some of this gambling junk behind 18+ gate. But that would require more effort on Valve's end of course.

clearly the parents are retarded here , i didnt knew children at 11 years old have jobs there and a paycheck

Some kids are clever in making money. When was in 4-5th Grade there were some schoolmates who used to collect those "nice smelling" cards and sell them to others who payed from their lunch money. Or just save from the lunch money too. I recently met a 12 years old kid who makes about 50-60 Euro a in a school year from selling cigarettes, lighters , "rare" bottle caps and some other things others want. He tried to "bribe" me to make him an online card on my name but I refused. Still someone did it later for him. Now maybe in "red_avatar"'s case his nephew is really spoiled and his parents give him money for PC games but I mean some really an make such money all by themselves.

Papa's steam account with connected credit card. The number one reason for gambling among children.
Same for mobile games and Google Play/Apple iAppStore
again shows how retarded some parents are who leaves their credit cards saved on accounts, same reason for uploading all them pictures on facebook for pedophiles to see
if the kid makes money on his own good for him, still better than selling cocaine on the corner

Erm, have none of you heard of Steam Wallet? Or Steam Gift Cards? He asked for those and family thought he'd buy games with it. He blew it all on keys. After 5 minutes and €50 down the drain, he got a bunch of shitty weapons worth about €5. THAT is the problem and stop defending Valve for such an obvious money trap baiting kids in the process. Valve KNOW it's mostly kids watching those "crate opening" streams on Twitch. They're scum for supporting this.
Hopefully he learned a valuable lesson. I think sometimes it's better to do such things at early age to understand they are no joke. For example I first smoked cigarettes at 11 but quickly disliked their bad taste and since then I have smoked about 10 cigarettes for 19 years. The group of friends we used to smoke back then also don't smoke now. Still, maybe we could've become smokers if we started later, maybe not. I also used to play poker in high school but never really liked it too.
On the other hand my cousin never gambled on anything for 26 years and he got hooked fast. Spent ~20k Euros for 3 years on slot machines and got in heavy debt with few banks. He recovering now. Relatives helped him as much as possible and he cleared his debts and I think he hasn't been to a casino for an year.
might pick up gta5 if they do 75% off, im never buying full price games ever again , unless its some massive mmo/coop multiplayer game to kill a weekend with mates
according to istherenaydeal it was 15 euro on steam before, but somehow i missed that deal
i dont get how these key companies still keep getting away with on game release day having a price of -60% of the steam price , a price u have to wait a year+ to get on steam for.
Like there is no way valve is not tracking sales/region and hasnt compiled a black list of accounts who have a big ammount of these gry area games in their account, like insurance industries keep track of their bad customers.
