TW3 also had shortened responses in text with Geralt saying it in a different way.
In Mass Effect some dialogue options resulted in totally unpredictable actual voiced dialogue. Sometimes totally different in tone than what you intended, especially in ME3. Several times I was jumping up on my chair with my hands extended like "Who the fuck told you to say such shit?". There is no technical reason for that, either, strange.
Hey, anyone remember the Alpha Protocol dialogue wheel?
So apparently the game uses Mass Effect style dialogue model with your responses described as generalized thoughts. God i hate that shit.
Do you have a reliable source? I seriously doubt it. CDPR know how to make RPGs and they listen to what players want. I'm pretty sure they are well aware of all the shitty drawbacks of ME dialog system. I can't even fathom why would they take such a design decision after investing so much time and energy in every aspect of the game. Pretty sure this is just nonsense.
TW3 used the same system, though, as it didn't show entire responses either - so why is that news?
People just like to spout shit out of their ass again.
I will quote a previous post:

Cyberpunk 2077 features an interactive dialogue system that gives players maximum control during conversations—comment on an uncooperative character’s tattoo to please them, or end a conversation early with a well-placed bullet. The choice is always yours.
And if people decide to isodemo just because of rumoured dialog wheel use, i can only in their face.

I loved the Alpha Protocol dialog wheel because it made intent clear, and I think that's how it should be done instead of having sentences there that lead to the player character saying something else entirely / out of line from player expectations when they make that choice.
It was impossible to become an accidental asshole in AP because to be an asshole, the player would have to make that choice.
Also AP was very satisfying with the asshole playthrough.
lmao the dialogue was like a schizofrenic multiple personality person trying to keep up

Well those are your choices and when you picked them you knew what was going to happen. That should be how dialog wheels should be done. Just one very accurate word that signifies the intent and what action will be taken by the player character.
I would much prefer something along the lines of Morrowind's dialog thing, but if we must go with dialog wheels, then make it a single word choice at most that clearly states intent.

Its funny how a insult from you feels like no insult at all butyou know the logical error of your post right? At the time of the isodemo its no longer a rumor, but confirmed or denied. Fallout 4 system or as bad and ill isodemo and wait for a mod.
If it has a dialogue system as bad as Fallout 4's, then I won't even isodemo it. But I don't see any reason why it would have. Why would anyone jump to a conclusion like that? Because a wheel was mentioned? Again, The Witcher 3's dialogue system mostly worked fine and it was the same damn system, just not in the shape of a wheel.
Whitchers system was fine. I mean if its as bad as fallout 4. Mass effect is also bad because the wheel options could be very different than what was said

Yes yes yes yes!!!!! Alpha Protocol may be massively flawed in many ways but its dialogue system was so fucking awesome as an asshole. I always play the goody-two-shoes in games but that game made me think over about maybe playing an asshole in more games because it was absolutely hilarious. I honestly think AP is made to be played as an asshole, it makes the game so funny!

Anyways, I'm sure the dialogue system will be fine with Cyberpunk 2077, whatever one may think of CDPR...
Haha agreed, I usually roll with a somewhat polite approach in games but playing like a psycho-knob Thorton really felt too much satisfying to pass up , hands down my favourite aspect of the game. Another recent(ish) title that handles the dark side approach well is Tyranny, although that's a more cynical version of (pure) evil instead of an emotional/passive aggressive one.
The Witcher franchise has always been excellent when it comes to giving a balanced modern approach, not too deep in terms of C&C but definitely thorough and vibrant enough to face every single conversation without feeling tired or annoyed (on the contrary!). CDPR's characters typically manage to keep things quite concise while having the ability to use words that carry more weight and value than one would expect, it's a quality that's rare to find in today's gaming. Hopefully, such high standards will be maintained here as well.
edit:
And yep, encountering Ciri would be a damn pleasant easter cyberegg

it only bit me once, when I assumed "I can't let you do that" meant "for your own good" when it really meant "and I'll kill you to stop you". That was the one time I save scummed
