First, the Assassin’s Creed brand is coming back this year because Ubisoft Quebec had been working on some time (three years) and they were ready to come, so they are coming.

We are just now considering the brand. It’s a different approach than the one we had before, so you’ll see it some years but it will not be every year

I'm not a big fan of too big worlds either, but here it makes total sense since there's ships, it really needs to be as big as possible.

With that much water the size comes down to Origins' world size, don't see the issue here either.

...with more RPG elements, ship battles, tweaked combat, far bigger map... what did you expect, that the game would be an entirely new genre from previous?

No but this feels like a DLC, albeit an elaborate one.

Then i guess all follow-ups feels like DLC's. I'm happy it's one of few series where they're not derping it down, instead they're doing it deeper.

Follow ups, sure. But this is supposed to be a new game, taking place before Origins, and gameplay wise it still looks like Origins. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference like e.g Syndicate --> Origins.

My problem with this is not the re-skin, it looks good enough, but I had hoped they'd take their time again. Origins refreshed a very stale formula IMO, they took their time. They seem to be back to their milking cycle.
This seems to have been developed parallel to Origins, that says enough I guess.

If it's been in development in parallel to origins it means this game have 1 year more of dev time than Origins, which is very good, more time can be spent on doing more and better quests and making the world feel alive etc.

We get deeper RPG elements, bigger map, refined combat.. They've also said this is an exception, the series will not see releases this fast.

It will be a similar game, sure, and that's very good since the last game was great but could use some improvements (which we seems to be getting). I don't see people complaining FO2 was "too similar" to FO1..

"When you look around, more and more it's games-as-a-service [titles] that are the most appreciated by the fans," Corre said. "Because when you have invested tens and tens of hours in a game, and if there are new reasons to stay because you have fresh content to come, or innovation on a regular basis, then you are happy because all of the time you have invested... It's part of your life."

Quote:
"Yes, it's a service," he said. "It's a service-type product.

"The idea with Odyssey is to create new content every week so that it's a [lively] adventure for the fans. So there's always something new, something fresh and something they can discover and appreciate. We want this Odyssey to be living, to always be fresh, so it's a different way to create games this way."

???? just release a fucking patch after 3-4 weeks with tons new quests and challenges, if for some strange reason, the game does not have smaller quests and challenges. Something tells me, this isn't "service". Rolling Eyes Mad

I think i remember they had this crap for Origins too? Like "play this week to fight mythological creatures" or whatever, and you only had that week or weekend to do that.

Yeah no, that's not how i play games at all, it's not some fucking event i go to at some specific date Laughing

It worked well enough in origins tbh. I 100% the game, then we started getting the gods events, and also the dlc expansions, so i actually managed to get through all 3 gods, while playing the base game and expansions. If it's anything like that, sure, why not? I'm not one to pass up new content in games i enjoy.

In the end all i care about is that it's a good game. I don't particularly fancy the event shit, that effort should be spent into making patches or meaningful DLC's which you can play whenever you feel like it, but whatever.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey's female lead will be the canon character
Quote:
A Reddit AMA with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey creative director Jonathan Dumont has given us a much clearer idea of how the main narrative will play out depending on which of the two leads you play as. As both Alexios and Kassandra have their own backstory and personality, fans have had concerns over which of the two characters would be considered the canon character in the lore.

“Will there be a definitive canon story and can this be played?” asked Redditor TheOneAlistair. Dumont answered, “Yes there will be a canon represented in the novel. It features Kassandra and her journey. But in the game you decide your path, there is no right or wrong way.” So, yes Kassandra will be the canon character in the novel, but you’re free to find your own way through the main narrative however you want.

While Dumont confirms that there will be a canon story associated with Kassandra, he does not specifically respond to the mention of a definitive, playable canon storyline in the game.

You can read the full Assassin’s Creed Odyssey AMA here or catch the highlights in this Twitter thread. The description for the official Assassin’s Creed Odyssey novel on Amazon reads, “Greece, 5th century BCE. Kassandra is a mercenary of Spartan blood, sentenced to death by her family, cast out into exile. Now she will embark on an epic journey to become a legendary hero - and uncover the truth about her mysterious lineage.” This sounds a lot like an origin story, so perhaps the official novel will only be delving into Kassandra’s childhood and formative years, which would leave the main game’s storyline open for twists and turns.

Soon the story will show that the extraterrestrial beings are called Adam and Eve. Their child is the first blacksmith struggling to create the first blade in history.

And as expected, the 'tards over at NeoCuck 2.0 are wetting themselves.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
