As these companies churn out devices every other day, I think it would make sense to have a single thread for Xiaomi instead
And while everybody around me seems to have more and more Huawei Devices (various Huawei, Honors and so on), I ordered myself the new Mi8. Not the Explorer Edition though, even though the 3d facial unlock + under screen finger print reader sound sexy as heck, the decreased battery life (3000mAh compared to the regular mi8's 3400mAh) was a big no go for me.
The other specs look really good and I can live with the notch as I dislike having the front facing cam in the bottom of the phone (like with the mi mix 2s), together with the light sensor which apparently leads to some stupid situations where the display brightness would change depending on how much your hand blocks it
I even ordered a mechanical watch from xiaomi Damn company has something for everybody ...
Bye bye S6. Android 7 was just too much for you to handle
The Xiaomi Mi 8SE/8/8EE
Snapdragon 845, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128/256GB, 6.2" Super Amoled (Samsung) screen, 3000/3400mAh battery, 20+2x12MP camera + AI features
The phone seems to be super quick with it's Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 630... The current version already has Android 8.1 and there is an update to MIUI 10 around the corner. I'm really sick of tapping somewhere and having to wait for the phone to process a webpage or some pictures... The S6 was so snappy upon release
Edit:
Fucking hell, the Mi Mix 2s with the same specs as above (-amoled, + ips) costs only 383€ incl. delivery over at https://www.joybuy.com/600287024.html Am no longer sure if having the camera in the notch and the amoled screen are worth the 130€ price difference to what I payed for the Mi8

Happy Redmi 4a user over here
Have been using the device for about 1.5 years now. It was a replacement for my legendary Sony Ericsson T630, which sadly started to exhibit charging problems Still works, but in a very unpredictable ways
Replacing the device was like a change of an era for me. All the memories, when I used the device in public... "Wow, just look at that retrograde gay hipster", "Wow, my mom used such devices, but I have only seen them on pictures. May I hold it, please ?", etc...
