A certain someone should have died IMO, I guess every show has plot armor.

Well, I can think of only two characters you might be talking about
The first one did die, in fact he said it himself and killing off the second one would be a mistake. I think he will die but in a more meaningful and impactful way. He deserves it.
PS Good episode.

I wasn't talking about the marketing point though. It doesn't mean, of course, that they haven't considered this.

I don't think so.
Not even close. The Legion's second season is shit.

The latest episode was much better than the last few ones, I can finally see the two timelines ( it's more confusing than interesting at the moment ) joining back together so that the story can finally be more focused again. The bits with Ford were of course interesting and well-acted, and finally I can feel the story going back on its rails.
The Japanese part was complete trash imo, maybe it was pleasing aesthetically speaking, but it was completely pointless plot-wise to me. The only thing this whole adventure was useful for was Maeve getting her Ford-like powers, and... nothing else, really. Moreover, they really could have gone for something else other than a Japanese setting with really cliché characters/scenes stereotypes ( geisha adopts poor girl, grown-up girl is wanted by some higher-up, geisha defends her.. come on ) we've already seen way, way too many times.
There were far too many near-death-nah-just-kidding scenes as well, it was clearly infuriating after a while. MiB doesn't die, Hale doesn't die, Maeve doesn't die.. At least one them should have, this felt more like shonen anime where everybody has a serious inability to die than a serious adult series.

Well, I was more emotionally invested in him than in Dolores and half the other characters on the show, so there's that. Very good episode in my books.

It was good, however, they told us the same old story again, but this time with a male character instead of Maeve.
And his story didn't give us any significant insights into the Westworld story in general. In short, what we learned didn't warrant 50+ minutes of the screen time.
+ no plot progression.

Loved the episode. Great performance by McClarnon (already enjoyed his work in Fargo).
Has the maze already been explained and I missed it? From what I've seen it triggers consciousness and persistent memory in the hosts who observe it.

I gotta go with h0rnyfavn on this one. Great acting and visuals, all that, but a LOT of exposition for a plot that basicaly offerslittle to nothing new in the way of plot development.
"Same" story, different point of view. I had that "filler" feeling mid-episode.

Not necessarily. It's more a representation maybe. We don't know if Akecheta's buddy actually really got it when he saw the symbol, or Maeve right away for that matter when he drew it in the sand outside her house.

It didn't progress the overall story, but it was still the best ep of the season IMO. Great acting, visuals, music and it was very emotional. It felt more like an ep from the excellent first season. This ep made me realize how boring and uninspired the Dolores parts this season really are.

I'm very close to giving up on this show. It's slow, dull and not very imaginative (except for the parts where they're trying to be overly complicated, such as introducing 100 different timelines). Long gone is the excitement that came with the interesting concepts such as "do what you want with no repercussions". Now it's all very Terminator, and not T2, more like Terminator Salvation.
My opinion on this is that they fucked it up, and wrote season 2 for Reddit audiences.

MiB has gone crazy And tbh I don't like it. they went too far..it's unbelievable.
Anyways, about his daughter.. Spoiler: |
MiB shooting her was so retarded.. there are easy and reliable ways to check whether a person a host or a guest...but no..let's shoot first.
The thing is.. it doesn't matter whether she was a host or not.
1) MiB thought she was real, it's all that matters.
2) There is always a chance that William successfully "resurrects" her in the end as a host with a human mind thus redeeming (somewhat) himself. She spent a shitload of time in the park and hosts scanned everyone. So, essentially, she is not dead if there is still a copy of her mind somewhere.
PS Apparently her human body is dead.

Spoiler: | Ehh, I don't see how that would be redeeming in any way, even if it's a perfect copy, it's just a copy.
In fact, the whole immortality angle they revealed this season still isn't making much sense to me, since the writers are not addressing the transfer of consciousness. So far it seems like the end result of the mind scanning project is supposed to be the ability to create a perfect copy of a mind. Are all the Delos execs okay with dying while leaving immortal copies behind? Why are they even calling that "immortality"? |

@Sauronich
Spoiler: |
1) If the new "you" thinks the same, feels the same, remembers things the same, wants the same things then it is essentially you.
2) Transferring of consciousness is possible but it is not perfected. Ford could only transfer his consciousness into the Cradle coz of some incompatibility issues with a host body. |

|
Spoiler: | 1) I'm not a big philosopher, but wouldn't that only be true at the moment of the copy's creation? The very instant it gets created your paths begin to diverge and it becomes a different person. Your original consciousness is still going to die, you won't continue to perceive reality through the copy's senses, therefore no immortality.
2) Was there any talk of actual consciousness transfer though? Seems like the problem is that when they put a copy of a mind inside a host, it starts rejecting reality due to the copy still being imperfect in some way. They don't seem to be trying to preserve the continuity of the original consciousness. |

Spoiler: | Don't think there was any transfer of consciousness for Ford since he was alive and kicking until the point Dolores blew his brains out, unless the bullet itself somehow completed the transfer
My point is he must have done a copy earlier. |

Yeah, most likely he had done it before he died.

And after the season finale I will drop this turd of a show... Fucking hell season 2 was bad. This episode felt like some shitty telenovela.
Did the writing team change? Was it never planned for multiple seasons?
