Well it is probably the first time Bioware is targeting a demographic EA actually cares about, so it's not entirely unsurprising they'd splash out a bit on PR. Which probably makes the potential fallout from any failure (perceived or actual) all the greater. I guess it really is Bioware's last roll of the dice, one way or the other.
Didn't look too bad to me. Seems like it could be fun. The part I really liked, hopefully I understood correctly, is that you can play the game as single player.
looks like a mix between firefall (suits) and destiny2 (lame ass boring fancy gfx and shit story patched together gameplay), and both them games sucked ass
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Wooptidoo, you could even do that in most MMO's.
They make it sound like it's something incredible... but all the info make it seem it's just a reversed hub game. Clever!

- No AI party members
- No other players in hubs, hubs are for story progression
- Conversation choices return, but branches are simpler
- No co-op story decisions
- No loot sharing, swapping, or stealing
- Online only
- No PvP
- Not a MMO
- The open world is multiplayer, you will experience other players out there.
- Dynamic living world, a world that would change every time you returned to it.
- Designed to allow to add story for years to come.
- Your quest hub is unique to you, but the gameplay outside is shared with other players in a MMO sense.
- The world has a LOT of verticalities, with heavy reliance on jetpack.
- Constantly evolving weather in the dynamic open world.
- No loot boxes; cosmetic and vanity items will be available for real money.
- Suits of armor known as Javelins.
- Personalizing for Javelins will be available.
- Mobile base known as Strider
- Can switch between Javelins freely at Fort Tarsis or in your mobile Strider base.
- Javelins can be upgraded.
- The classes are: Interceptor, Ranger, Storm and Colossus.
- Booster jets can overheat and ground your Javelin; air time can be extended through upgrades.
- Parties up to four players.
- Abilities from other party members can be stringed together to make use of the game's combo system.
- In the open world free play you will be able to collect crafting material, fight large enemies, as well as take on minor tasks the game will generate for you.
- NPCs will give out quests that will show you some context on factions, Scars, as well as themselves.
- Dungeons known as Strongholds with endgame strongholds being much more difficult, requiring absolute teamwork and rewarding greater loot.
- Drop-in/out co-op with friends or randoms available straight from the world map at Fort Tarsis.
- Low-level players who join a late-game mission will deal enough damage so as they are still able to contribute to the mission.
- Story known as critical path and end game known as elder-game.
- Alliance system (no news on that besides name).
Always online was expected since the first reveal.

so pretty much like wildlands then?
there was nothing bad about it, so it will be totally fine here too. actually it's always a good addition to a old fashion single player experience. you still have fun with the game but in the same time you meet new people in games or you can play it with your friends. you can share stats and collect stuff together and whatelse. so overall it's even better then playing just for fun (alone) without any purpose of progression and collecting stuff.
also everyone should have a internet connection good enough these days to still play these kind of games. if not then it's your own fault.

Meh.
Seems to borrow some stuff from destiny but has fuck all to do with... pretty much any other bioware game to date (aside from the third persone shooting from ME2 and 3, no ideia if andromerda was an upgrade in that regard vs ME3 or a downgrade)?
Bye bioware.

I guess we'll need to wait until early next year to see how things pan out. I think it will have to be a pretty monumental flop for EA to outright can them, but it's possible the studio could see some aggressive scaling back if sales/revenue is merely mediocre. I guess they could also just shut down Edmonton altogether and transplant the label to a different in-house studio. Although I can't see that really meshing with EA's online/services-centric focus. Do they really need a brand primarily synonymous with single player RPGs if they have no intention of ever making any?
Well, this one is a dead fish as far as I'm concerned.
I echo that sentiment. Look's like Bioware's going to be next out to the pasture (or, I guess where EA's involved, it would be more accurately termed as a "corpse pit"! ).
At this point it's like shooting an old, sick dog - it breaks your heart to do it, but it has to be done.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Always online "single player".
While that sucks, it doesn't bother me. I have constant internet connection. Just like D3, you get used it.
