Wow that guy has some idiotic ideas Confused

Quote:
"That being said, I believe that the story-driven experience is going through a generational change. Especially for people like me, the old guys... people who are 25 or older. Looking at God of War, that's a pretty good example of a great single-player experience. I like it a lot, but I might not get the time to complete it. For me, that's a frustration. Because when you start a story-driven experience you want to see the conclusion. So we have to adapt and try new models.

"For example - and this is just my opinion, I'm not committing to anything - let's say that we develop a very good narrative, with a complex universe and strong characters. You start the game and then you complete it in three hours. That costs $30. That's it. Maybe that's the way to continue with story-driven games. You bring a strong experience, you make sure that the audience is interested by it, and that they can actually complete it.

We already have that format dipshit, it's called a movie.

And the movies will follow up also with a new format to 30 minutes because today's people don't pay attention for longer than that anymore! Of course the series will adjust as well to 3 minutes with 5 episodes every 3 years because everything else is filler anyway but the average audience still can't fathom more per 365 days! Shocked

Is it me or does the DLC aka season pass sounds like really really crap? I mean 7 challenging tombs and a few sidemissions that's it for the DLC? Yea there are skills and weapons as well, but does anyone care if you finished the game and there are only a few mediocre sidemissions? I haven't bothered with Rise of the tombraider and it's DLC (sounds like it's more of the same DLC?)

It has also the "zombie" cold darkness dlc available throught expeditions and Blood Ties (puzzle dlc, some nice worldbuilding lore)

Baba yaga is the only one available in the main game, which clearly shows it's cut content.

I didn't say no way it's an official image, I said no way she looks like that in game.

She just got shot at bad angles.

Those are shots in Maya 3D window with shadows and stuff. Not even renders with basic settings, plain 3D preview.

As for her curves, only her hips are slightly wider but her stomach is pretty flat, so all fine by me.

Those games are casual to you? sheesh I think the term is losing it's meaning then, casual to most people is playing candy crush saga on the subway.

Anyway, yes please, give me more tlou, uncharted, tomb raider & gow every day of the week man, i'll buy em all. If that's the direction the gaming companies are moving towards then sign me up for that shit, cause i've enjoyed all those, and horizon, and ac origins, and shadow of war and even farcry 5. no /s

Good times coming for gaming heh, or just me in particular seeing as y'all hate games like these i guess?

They're not bad games by any measure, but there's a tendency to making every real AAA title more and more like them, always more cinematic, with similar characters that somehow end up being dull..
At the end of day, all these games feel very, very, very similar to me, regardless of their backgrounds or slight gameplay differences. And their gameplay isn't really what you could call challenging compared to their previous iterations, with "cinematism" comes streamlining ( in the uniformizing sense ). It's basically going to be the next open-world, of course it'll be a lot more tolerable than that, but it's still streamlining.
I guess that's why people have some contempt for this general direction the industry's going to Wink

See but i don't agree here, none of those mentioned games there have dull characters. Not tlou, not uncharted, definitely not gow, and while i can't say i absolutely loved lara, she was fine for the most part.

On the games i mentioned, Bayek wasn't dull either, i really liked him, same with Aloy (which might've had a few dull moments but was overall depicted well, in shadow of war, while talion was mostly silent, they did have quite a nice batch of supporting cast, i still feel bad for Bruz after all these months grinhurt. FC5 does have dull characters though, that one's mostly a coop guilty pleasure for me.

Also i think it's unfair to bundle all of these up into the whole "same game, different backgrounds" thing, they're vastly different experiences throughout, and as for being too easy, i'm not sure what you're expecting, i definitely don't want every game to be dark souls. I'm at an age when i'm fine with being moderately challenged by the games i play, i don't need the aggravation of beating lorian & lothric (fuck these two, really.) in every single game. But despite my personal preference, for all these games the option is there, as far as i can tell.

You've got the survival mode in tomb raider, the one shot kills in tlou, the give me god of war difficulty in gow, if you really want to be a masochist i guess?
