Is that proper release now?

BATTLETECH-Razor1911
BATTLETECH_Repack-Razor1911

Both failed during installation.

I just went with BattleTech Deluxe Edition-ElAmigos. Not sure what the fuck Razor is doing.

So, my first mercenary contract, made it there by the skin of my teeth after spending almost a month orbiting to repair shit. Load up, load out, ready to go. Click Deploy. Game crashes.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

In case others have constant errors while trying to install via the .iso (like i did):

Quote:
- Unrar files
- Do not mount the iso. Instead open with Winrar and extract the files
- Run the installer and go to options and select "check file integrity" it should take about 2 mins max to check, and install

Did Razor fuck the ISO file on this one integrity wise or something?

No idea, but from where i got it (IPT), many people had issues with installation.

Why don't you just find a copy of the GOG version? That should be a straight 1:1 copy of the retail version with no half-assed cracks to worry about.

Razer is GOG version. But while installing, setup throws an error at 40%.

It seems that the game gets stuck right after the tutorial if you have gog galaxy installed. So far I was not impressed with the tutorial. So have not tried uninstalling gog galaxy yet.

Well they make really good games but none of their games where without issues so far so it's best to wait a few patches bevore jumping in.

Saying really good games seems like pushing it. With their previous project, Necropolis, they didn't even deliver on the promises made and abandoned the game after a few months. And like my whiny boy h0rnyfavn (Very Happy) said, the Shadowrun games are lacking almost any kind of complexity in term of gameplay for a turn based tactical RPG.

Cool argument.
I like this attitude, let's blame all the AAA developers, but excuse all the overpriced indie developers, because reasons...

Well i think saying the Shadowrun games are lacking almost any kind of complexity in term of gameplay for a turn based tactical RPG is just plain wrong they where great and in my opinion had just the right amount of complexity without getting tedious, maybe i'm a bit biased in this regard since i really liked them and i also play a lot of Japanese games which are often less complex then western RPGs in this regard but that's how i see it.

They were pretty good games from an RPG perspective and I think Dragonfall is one of the better RPGs of this generation. But there is very little you could say to defend the lackluster gameplay. The gameplay was designed to work on tablets and that shows. When they abandoned the idea of releasing the games for tablets (Hong Kong), they put 0 effort into making the gameplay better.

On the subject of Battletech, I like the strategic part (so far). There is some management to do that's complex enough and ties in nicely with the combat performance. Difficulty levels would have worked great with this, but I guess the devs weren't so keen on investing resources to balance each difficulty.

You can turn off the "cinematic" cameras (there are 4 different sliders ranging from Never to Always in the options), but no way I've found to speed up the actual animation.

Yea, I know the camera options, but sometimes the mech walks backwards and it's so damn slow Razz
And of course also enemy movement, the turns take later on several minutes and it's getting annoying Razz

Do I get a stat boost or some perk if I choose the neutral pronoun? If not, why not? This was a huge missed opportunity.

There's a speed up option in the debug mode apparently:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Battletechgame/comments/8f8wb4/psa_enable_debug_would_with_registry_key_always/

And there is a Cheat Engine speed hack, as mentioned in that thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Battletechgame/comments/8f325t/do_you_wanna_speed_up_the_game_here_we_go/

Alternatively, you can edit some of the game files to do it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Battletechgame/comments/8f6b3l/psa_how_to_really_speed_movement_up_not_from/

On a different note, the very first mod on Nexus is kind of amusing (I wonder if it will get removed):

Damn, loading times and performance are shit.

And because one of my pilots / mechs took a bit of focused fire (got 2 injuries while mech barely got damaged), she is now unavailable for 53 days. Laughing Fucking shit.
