Love this season more than the first. Great slow burn.
yep pretty much , imo better than previous season ... althought first few eps felt way too slow
This season was pretty much all about relationships. Everything is driven by the complex and conflicting desires and feelings people have within themselves and towards others. Every character has selfish and altruistic reasons for their actions and it's the blurring of the lines that drives them down to make terrible decisions. The flaws in every character made the season one of the best because we get to see this characters at their worst and still understand where they come from! Everyone became a villan to themselves or someone else and the lines were so blurred you didn't know who to root for
Personally I don't think it is. The tension and atmosphere that accompanied Killgrave in season one are all gone now, and these characters just aren't good enough to support a mainly character-driven show. Neither is the personal story, to be honest - it lacks depth, lacks mystery, turns are visible from a mile off. It also heavily lacks logic in many places. For example, the failed assumption that so many people in the show seem to share, that the only way to stop someone whose - oh so great - power is being able to lift a car, is to make them fight another person who can lift a car. The way one of the characters was presented seemed to suggest the viewer should treat her as someone really dangerous and powerful, when, in fact, I saw literally nothing of the sort. Shortcuts and assumptions like that would be fine for most comic-book shows, but not necessarily for one that tries to do what this one does.
fucking garbage, the marvel netflix train hype is long gone, all we get now are 4-5 episode plot stretched over 13 episodes. jessica jones season 1 was the last good season from any marvel show, since luke cage its been downhill, safe to say they will fuck with daredevil too now
Marvel is also canceling Jessica Jones following its upcoming third season, saying “In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel’s Jessica Jones. We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others."
Sources told THR that Netflix didn't want to hold back the Jessica Jones cast from seeking other work when the company was confident the third season would be the last for the show.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Don't think so. Net owns streaming rights. Not character rights. I think. Could be wrong. Would be ridiculous is Disney gave away char rights and streaming rights to Netflix.
This is reviewing poorly. The sentiment seems to be that it does nothing new, it's more of the same, only worse.
But reviewers also seem influenced by the fact this is the last Marvel superhero series that will ever by produced for Netflix. Kinda like how Dark Phoenix is getting reviewed not just in regards to whether it's a good film, but also regarding whether it provides good closure for the entire X-Men film series.
Critics Consensus: Despite some strong storytelling, Jessica Jones' third season buckles under the burden of being a closing chapter for not only its own superhero narrative, but an entire era of Marvel television.
"Though it began as the one Marvel/Netflix series with the most potential, Jessica Jones has seen its quality dip precipitously with each subsequent season."
"As it nears the end of its run, the series doesn't seem to have much more to say about trauma."
"If you were hoping to see this era of Marvel Television sail off in the sunset with fireworks and acclaim, you're simply out of luck."
"As a final season arc, it simply doesn't hold the kind of water it needs to, to take the show to the kind of satisfying conclusion fans are going to want."

I am about half way though this new season and so far I still think season 1 was the best for Jessica Jones just because Killgrave was an interesting villain. Maybe something interesting will happen in the second half of the season to change my mind but I kind of doubt it.
I liked the first season, downhill from there. This was a 5/10 for me at best. And such bloat....13 eps was at least 3 too many, and probably more than that. Krysten Ritter is hot as fuck (even with her hairy arms) but I'm glad it's not ever coming back - I ploughed through it yesterday but it felt like a chore much too often.

This season was probably better then season 2 as it did pick up in the second half for me but you are right about the usual Netflix episode count bloat. There were 2 episodes that were almost identical to 2 previous episodes during the season but told from a different character perspective and slightly different camera angles so even if they might have had like 10-20 minutes of new content, you had to sit through an hour for each one anyways.
I did like the last episode though just thanks to the little Marvel things but it is a shame they could never do any of the fun comic storylines with some of the C and D list heroes as clients.
