just look for bundles with games, those units dont get updated at all. so if you find a ps4 pro box bundle with an older game its old fw on it. there are many threads about on reddit etc which bundle comes with which fw
that works for the slim, but not the pro. spent the last hour googling the fuck out of it, the best option (aside fromebay etc) really is go to stores like müller where no sane person would buy a ps4 ever and check the serial.
and now that i think of it, compared to all fat/slim bundles with the right firmware now being 350€+, paying 400€ for an "overpriced" old 3.70 pro is actually rather cheap
The 4.55 Jailbreak doesn't includes backups loader for now... It can be solved via 4.05 port of the hen payload?
As being said, people should and I am also holding off from updating to that said FW, till I can confirm all the 4.05 stuffs can work on 4.55 Jailbroken.
yes, updated payloads should be available soon. exploit host already updated with selection of 5.01-5.05, 4.55 and 4.05 (ofc with 5.x not fully exploited yet and 4.55 not containing any payloads). so stay as low as possible atm and keep in mind that some reliable person strongly adviced to update only to 4.55 if some stuff is released even if 5.x gets more than userland exploit

People reporting that not only 4.05 stuffs works on 4.55 jailbroken as well...
There is now up to 4.55 pkg dumps floating like Persona 5 and Nier which are working on Jailbreak 4.55..
(Though in case of Nier,I might stick to PC version as the game is more build up for PS4 Pro and Normal PS4 is 900p).
Just curious I'm on 5.05, been along time since I've modded a console, PS3 with the board and tinfoil . With the ps4 being modded would you sacrifice all online functions , game updates etc
Fuck this, I just updated to 4.55, I messed up a bit because my HD was corrupted but I backed up all my stuffs and 4.05 things are working great with 4.55 Hen..
However the 4.55 exploit is a bit unstable for now so it take few tries to hack,but hopefully it will be fixed soon.
still cant find a decent price even for a 4.55 console. problem is that all the big companys sold their old stock so all that remained are in the smaller shops, 350 euro for a slim bundle when 400 euro is the pro model but with higher firmware...

still on 4.05, what do you mean with takes a few tries? on 4.05 it just needed the ps4 to idle in the menu for about a minute before applying the exploit and a minute wait after that before launching a game to prevent any failures (i.e. kernel panics which result in an instant power off of the console + need of rebuilding the database [which in the worst case could lead to lose everything on it])
Basically how I am jailbreak my console, I mean you get few times "No free space available" but after that Hen is successfully enabled, everything from 4.05 works,"backups" etc...

nope, every time you boot up the ps4 you need to reapply the exploit. otherwise the games are locked. pushing x on a locked item causes a kernel panic in the worst case and instantly shuts down your console

only install from external hdd atm, must use ofc exfat cause fat32 doenst support big sizes and ntfs isnt supported by the ps4. just ftp the unpacked files or the pkg doenst work at all

nope, atm not. its supported by fw 4.55 but hen cant use that atm
and the dev of the 4.55 hen payload wont add support for installing on external hdds. that would be the main reason to upgrade to 4.55. otherwise just stay on 4.05, most dumps made on 4.55 are working just fine on 4.05
I'm on 5.00. My interest has piqued with recent updates and I'm curious as to how it works. Hopefilly not too long before newer firmware versions are hacked.

More like June but yeah... also sony this time is pretty fast to update their patches to the latest version, unlike the fails with 3.50 patches for 3.60 games.
so i found myself a 4.55 pro (anything below serial no. S01-747xxx goes apparently), all fine and dandy.
now is there anything else i should absolutely install from those app repos? most importantly, do i really need the update blocker and if yes, do i need to start it every time i boot the ps4?
also, people say you can't split pkgs like on the ps3, but i've found several games in ~10-part pkgs. do those work?
