Once you learn which map mods kill you -> you can play reasonably safely.
It's mostly about figuring out at what hp/res levels you're able to tackle the mod causing you trouble. (and of course there are some mods which are simply instakills for wrong kind of builds)
ie. phys reflect if you happen to do 100% physical damage -> You'll need to have specific items / skills / respec to convert the physical damage to something else.
And then there's corrupted blood :I (I guess remove bleed removes this?). This is something that kills me always when I'm tired.

I find find POE very much a single player affair ( I play HC SSF ). I absolutely love theory crafting on my own and coming up with my own builds and sussing out the flat mechanics of the game.. my last 3 builds didn't break 60 I'm hanging out for this expansion to give this build another try as I think it's really viable for endgame.
Also you kinda prove my point, you died because overconfidence, reckless play etc.. that is legitimate reasons to die.. I lost my last char on. Act7 boss not paying attention to the laser grid

Yep again, thats skill, experience and not random. It's understanding the game and underlying game mechanics. Interesting reading guys following l33t player builds that can't beat purity because they don't play to circumstances only what the l33t build tells them to do.. then they must have items xyz and the game is imba..
Or just use level 1 decoy skill gem, you build your char for each challenge accordingly I'll take shitty early skills for a specific reason and swap them out later once I've superceded that need, likewise for items. Again this game is complex and requires skill if you want to level 90+ in hardcore without paying for all your items and boss fights.

I'm not sure if you guys know about Path of Building? It's amazing for theory crafting or improving your build on the go.
You can even import your own character and gear and stuff and really see what each node will do for your build

Yes, it's a fun game, but it has it's own thread. The part where it was a comparison has already passed.
'tis time for a new season once more... Season 13 starts this friday.
Changes? None. For the last seasons the patches usually went live 1-2 weeks before a season started to iron out any bugs, this time around... nothing. So there will most definately not be any patch.
And apparently all the character portraits were datamined a while back, and with this seasons portrait to unlock that's all of them. Blizzard will probably go into even-lazier mode and start recycling the old portraits again as future season rewards.
I'll still play as crusader, but ugh. Probably not for long.
Yeah, if there's some kind of patch I can usually be tempted to check out the changed builds. But this season.. I might play something I haven't played in ages, but I'm definitely not excited. Can't be there at the start anyway, so not able to do the traditional start of season marathon with a friend like I always do.

D3 seasons are complete garbage. Hardly "any" changes. Been like this for a long time now. Hopefully, this is the last year of this and we get a proper Diablo game soon.

anyone else having problems with logging in to the b.net? doenst work in the app nor in the browser after entering the auth code. just says cant proceed. already reset the password (which worked fine so the account isnt hijacked or sth). or they dropped the support for the windows phone app... cant find it on the store in my main device at all. still runs on my old backup phone cause i was always too lazy to transfer it

First, credit goes to Zar-M on /r/diablo for posting this. I thought it was worth bringing over here since this signals a much broader issue than just concerning the Diablo-franchise.
Bascially, from this statement it seems that Blizzard is shifting their focus, something that affects their whole lineup of games, from PC/console to mobile gaming. Now, from comments here and elsewhere regarding Diablo: Immortal, many have been of the opinion that it's just broadening their lineup of games and not impacting the core franchises. If they are indeed moving their best developers to mobile gaming it means that their priorities have shifted pretty hard and it will affect their other games. This seems like a pretty big turn for one of the most well-renowned developers in the buisness.
The illuminating answer he gave that most of their devs have switched from playing desktop games to mobile phones is what got me. That means their internal culture has changed and explains so much about why they were so caught offguard at Blizzcon.
