In another time period this was probably true..
As i see it (2018):
Release (alpha release - only good for getting a vibe of what it is, formerly known as "demo" or pre-release)
2-4 week patched game (beta release)
6 months - 1+ Year patched game (actual release of game - time to play)

I will wait for few patches and try it.
Seems to be pretty ok story rpg... being clunky and broken as it is

What this game needs is another 6-12 months of development, heavy optimizing and enough polish to make the golden gate bridge shine again. Vávras posting of "his funniest bug" prior to photos of the release party is a slap in the face.
After playing it for 5-6 hours i can see the good in it, its just covered by a big pile of bohemian steed manure.
I know people are in the denial phase right now... it'll turn to anger and sadness soon enough.

Anyone using that eye-tracking thing? it seems pretty neat, but it only supports screens up to 30"?? what a waste, i bet they must regret this already, 32"+ is by now very common i would think (at least among us nerds who would be interested in such a thing in the first place)

Yeh, I'll be using that save modifier. Just played around an hour and had to leave without a save being possible.
Not fun.

Is it normal getting a loading screen often when initiating dialogues? This is kinda ridiculous
PS I can hardly believe this is cryengine...II dunno if it gets better, but the first village is pretty underwhelming graphics-wise.

I tried it for few hours, first impressions are really positive, graphics wise the game looks insanely realistic at time, had to stop and look. It is a bit buggy yea, no serious bugs yet. The story is quite interesting sofar. The thing that surprised me the most (NO SPOILERS) after the initial event that starts the game off you find yourself locked in a castle, cant leave but your character is determined to do his quest. So as a gamer instantly thot, oh ok ill be locked in here until I please the lord and he lets me out, but thot about doing something silly. Just tried to jump over the wall and book it as fast as I can, the guard saw me and started screaming "PRISONER ESCAPING!" a pursuit began, one guard catched up with me and stopped me in my path, but for my surprise it was not a "Mission failed" screen, there were actually options, persuade the guard, bribe him, attack him, or agree and return. I chose persuade and it succeeded, the guard told me "Ok lad, I understand your wishes and I agree, ill scream and fall on the ground and you just run!" the dialog ended and he just started screaming and fell to the ground making a distraction to the other guards for me to escape. Was a total random desicion to jump that wall, but it worked, I am shocked.... an RPG with actual choice?
All in all, holy hell that game is a bit buggy tech wise, but runs great on my systems, looks pretty good, captures the whole Polish Eastern Europe castle feel amazingly. Once I entered a castle instantly felt familiar, looks like the castles we have in Lithuania right now which I visited. SUPERBLY impressed.
Personal opinion only after a few hours.
Edit: I can live with some bugs or some clunky controls, what I saw here, I was really happy with.

I hate the combat... it's one of those animation based combat systems that interlocks you with your enemy... which makes it feel fake as fuck... a disguised QTE bullfest basicly.
Everything else so far I dig immensely. The visuals, the athmosphere, the story... the immersion works for me really well.

Game is pretty good, the performance isnt though. When I play with very high settings I get drops to 40fps im Talmberg even with my rig. Maybe my rig is fucked or the game is just buggy. Playing on high now, that works better.

Damn, I've got that typical internal conflicting feeling between the wise shoulder cherubim suggesting 'wait some months for the patched up version' and the shoulder devil shouting 'fuck it, play it anyway!'
Everything sounds exactly as I expected, no surprises when it comes to the flawed technical aspects of it and shoddy performance. A very rough title but hopefully, with a lot to like too. I have no problem with that as long as the core gameplay/exploration and story are quality ones, the technical flaws can be fixed (..eventually). Usually, I tend to be a patient bear and go through games when they've reached their 'full' potential, but it's tough to resist to an early isoride, the Vavralands are calling.
edit:
Meanwhile, I've added the traditional [Early Access] tag

Combat is better with my trackball. Just flick. I hope the devs acknowledge their save system fuck up and fix it but for now it's that mod for me.
