Alrighty. Thanks.
Is the FFXV quest not available in the CPY version? I was in the area and did not see the quest icon pop up.

How does one go about getting a locked 60fps with a 1080ti i5-6600k combo. I've dicked around with some settings and was still getting frame drops

I was actually playing some Warframe today, but one of my cousins came over. I decided to show him this instead. We started talking about how neat it would be if the intense heat affected Bayek.
Being in the desert at the time, the heat haze in the distance was the most intense I've seen it in the game up until now. Not even a minute after that discussion, Bayek started seeing things: scarf in the wind, a sand human-like figure appeared on the horse (really fucking cool visual effect on that), some old man pointing us all over the place, flowers, Bayek's kid even... sandstorm hit at one point too, with the visions still happening, really neat ambiental music with some strange but soothing humming started as well. Kept chasing the directions through the sandstorm, really cool moment!
After a while night fell upon the desert, the heat went away and with it the visions. All those things combined made for such a fantastic experience, brought to surface so many subtle emotions... I honestly really love this game, so happy it didn't end up being a mess and I get to play it.

ah, so that effect is in... cool. Didnt see it yet, but yes i was also thinking that would be a nice addition.
It's too bad it's not a game that will ever have any deeper mods due to no editor etc.. there are so many things that could be done with this.

It's mostly when you're deeper in the desert regions near the bottom of the map though any hot region usually suffices, mostly seen through the heat haze "wave" effect and then a short sound cue and the game momentarily taking camera control to force focus in the direction of the vision.
There's a dozen or so, including a few strange ones which I'm not sure how scripted those are.
(Spoiler.)
Spoiler: |
One if I'm remembering it correctly even lets you see your own death which Bayek even comments on which he's usually silent towards the other visions but this particular one is a very lengthy sequence involving multiple visions in a row as you make your way through the bottom-most region and a certain something.

Is there really nothing in those big deserts? Apart from the tomb in one of them.

The white and black one has some few points of interest but the big one at the bottom is almost empty aside from that. Kinda funny that it classes as a level 40 area and then it's entirely devoid of life or at least far as I've found from running around in that location.
(And Ubi placed one of the god challenges here for the trial things so players have a 5 - 6 minute travel from the nearest checkpoint some 3 kilometers away.)

i have about 20h into the game now and still going strong, not bored, about to leave memphis. half of the map is still unexplored and so far i mostly did main+side stuff, game is pretty big.
they really nailed the world.
what im dissapointed so far are the tombs, i thought they were gonna be like in ac2 with some parkour climbing puzzles but they are mostly exploring on deep coridors with a torch, which still looks cool but after a few it gets repetitive.

Nothing. I went through all of them just to get the achievement of having the entire map explored, but there's nothing of interest there.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

its like everyone complains about not being cracked, then it gets cracked but thread is silent. this forum is so bipolar
anyway so many side quests in this game, you cant really play only the main ones couse you need to level up and also youll miss out almost half of the map, its like the side quests and main ones are switched.
but main story is still boring, its like they make a big world first then make some story in it instead of developing the story first and go from there like other developers do

yeah most of the sidequests are the same, not much you can do with the series really, i mostly do them so i can explore more of the map
its like they do a big area just to fill it with the usual kidnap and investigation sidequest

I enjoyed my playthrough immensly, glad I bought it back then. And I know what you guys are getting at, the world seems so incredibly detailed and lovingly crafted, it's a shame the things you get to do in it are so trivial and repetitive.
Sure the quests are better worked out than in the old assassins creeds, each with its own little story and characters, but there is still no choice for the player or meaningful impact in the world.
Maybe if there was some base-building or renovation aspect like the old Ass Creeds did, or maybe something larger... maybe something like Mount and Blade, with army battles and fort captures. Wouldn't be much Assassins Creed anymore, but that immense world must find a better use.

Overpriced tiny little plastic shits for autists. You can't display these in your house if you have even a trace of self-respect.
