Can the Cyclops actually fire torpedoes or just decoys?

No, Cyclops can't launch torpedoes. The decoy is good enough. The Cyclops doesn't go down as easily as the Seamoth and you can escape fast enough. If you go deeper after the Lost River there is nothing that will attack the Cyclops as there aren't any Leviathans other than 2 Sea Emperors, one is near the Alien Thermal Plant and another near the Primary Containment Facility, but they have some weird behavior and sometimes don't attack. It was really easy to scan them except that they swim away from me like some scaredy Peepers and they swim fast. Very Happy

I'd say play both Very Happy
Both Subnautica and AssCreed are very good games, very polished and fun. But, at least for me, they both also wear you down a bit after a couple of hours, although for very different reasons. Subnautica because of the constant tension, AssCreed because of the repetitive gameplay Very Happy
But you're still drawn to them after a short bit, because there's always something new to discover and you're eager to find out what comes next.

Use pots. A lot less hassle. 4 plants in 1. Take 3, cut 1.

I have 4 pots with my Cyclops and do the same. But tbh the indoor growbed was the last blueprint I discovered and that was 10 minutes before the end-credits Laughing

Bob, if you stll can't cut it, try with Propulsion Cannon if you have it? I don't know if that will work tho.

Sooo... I had problems with Subnautica crashing every now and then. I ran the GPU-Z sensor and my Radeon 7950/OC was at 80c! I do overclock it quite a bit (830/1250 to 1100/1700) I haven't opened my PC in a year or more. Opened it up and removed the Radeon. My Arctic Xtreme 7970-cooler was clogged with cat hairs and dust. Cleaned it out, replaced the MX-4, put it back and now it's running 50c. I should do that more often. It's just sooo boring to mess with a 5-6 year old system.

Since i started building my first base now, the game really starts to take off now. Very Happy
Like i can finally start hoarding stuff, getting more radio calls, and found the first alien structure.
Also what's cool: When you deconstruct st uff, you get all the materials back.

@My above issue:
I will try building some pot instead. That should also give me more space to use.
Don't have that propeller cannon yet and as i wrote i am unable to hit the melons at any angle. Sad

I should probably do the same with my H100i. Haven't cleaned it more than once... I think.

Should probably get the compressed air out again one of these days, having a dog and taking care of my sisters cat occasionally so fur meets fans and that's a lovely combination indeed. Very Happy
(Small dust isn't as bad, long haired pets however that can be a problem much quicker for airflow.)

Dust filters work well though as long as you clean them frequently, top of the case a bit less so since that's where hot air goes out and thus said cat likes resting on it (Desert creature indeed.) so those fans and the CPU fan needs some maintenance around every half year or so.
(Noctua for the CPU so easy enough to clean the fan blades, big slab of metal thus compressed air and then the GPU can be a bit tricky but it's doable without having to remove the shroud an such.)

Just build 4 pots with 4 melons each inside. Build them next to the stairs of the rooms in some corner, so they don't really take any place.
Way better than those growing beds.
Also it's indeed easier to slash them for seeds.

Now i need to find the pieces of the Seamoth - so i can explore better than with that man-handled propeller machine. Crying or Very sad

Keep an eye out for those Reginald fish too; by far the best food you can have when out and about since fruit rots so fast now. For some reason the fresh uncooked version of the fish doesn't rot at all so I was breeding them in a small tank and keeping the live fish in containers until needed. Very Happy

Yep that's your main priority, once you get a seamoth it's like a new game and much less stressy.

You need an alien container. I kind of says so in the database for the aquarium as well.

That explains it why I don't know how to breed them then. I rarely read any databases for items or fishes. I hated how it doesn't pause the game so I can't read it when underwater or that after reading for 2 minutes I have to take water again which was not so easy to find in the beginning. Mostly read the ones for the codes and clues, leviathans or about the aliens. I guess I could've saved and read everything then load after that but didn't want to bother.

Wiki should have the text entries, which you can read at your leisure since the game pauses if you alt tab out. Just steer clear of the plot-related entries if you want to avoid spoilers; fauna/flora and building/item entries are perfectly safe though.

And yeah when I meant 'small tank' I just meant the smallest alien containment since you can stack those ontop of each other (10 fish per tank, if it's full they won't breed) - the aquarium is mostly just for fish storage and decoration.

Avoided using the wiki exactly because of spoilers. I hate it when I read something like: "This item does nothing in particular. It has a small chance to drop from the Jakarajua when he gets killed by Nutarekia in Chapter 4." Sad

Now, after I finished the game, I read them sometimes but kinda don't have such desire as before.

They really nailed the reward system with this game, the FUCK YEAH! moment when you first enter your seamoth is just awesome. What I really, really hate is the inventory. It absolutely sucks when you have to get back to base to unload so many times. Tools shouldn't take inventory space (some take up 4-6 slots). Or materials should be stackable to some degree, x5 or something.

Great game, exploration is truly fun.

I agree on the stackable items.
At least make them stackable in lockers, so i don't have to build a new locker after every 2-3 exploration trips. Embarassed

Also a bigger hotbar with like 10 slots would have been great.

The hotbar limitation makes no sense whatsoever and it's retarded. How it got out of early access like that is amazing.

Are there any major content upgrades coming in near future or it's already as good as it can be? Just wondering if I should postpone my 1st playthrough a bit more to get most (max really...) fun out of it.

Not any time soon, I'd play it now unless you want to wait months for the (possible) dlc/content patches.

Focus is on bugfixing right now:

"Autosave on quit" - NOOOOOOO

They should fix those useless Pathfinder Tool's disks. Make them more visible and remove the disks when you create a new PT.

And when I open the PDA or build inside the Cyclops the character starts to move and somehow ends up in the sky falling down... It happens almost every time especially when deep underwater. And I fall like I am in the sky not in the water. Almost killed me once. And it's very annoying.
