Im after a new Laptop as my old one is getting so slow and is like trawling a bag of bricks around when I take it to uni. Ive decided I want to get a laptop with a decent graphics card, so either a 128 or 256meg ati or nvidia. So i check on Dell and I see they ONLY do widescreen laptops.. what is the point?! Im not gunna be playing fucking xbox on it, why does it need to be in widescreen? So anyway, my main question is how do games cope with the widescreen resolutions, i dont ever remember seeing widedscreen resolutions in the options for many games, does it squash it all up? auto adjust?
ahh cool.. some of them look awesome like WoW but some look awful like Max Payne. What happens if you run a game that doesnt support WS or has a hack? Will it run in 4:3 with black borders?

that depends on the type of notebook you got, but most of them span the screen to 16:9 or 16:10
