Logan & Deadpool are awesome no doubt, the R rating helps a lot. I didn't like Doctor Strange, I thought it was a weak movie.

Apart from old good Dark Knight, all DC movies I've seen were shit.

Edit: Watchmen of course is a great movie imo.

Despite its leaving out some parts from the book I really liked - its still a solid movie for me. I love these kind of movies. Scifi ftw.

I honestly think you should just watch it. I have to agree with the rest about it being pretty damn good. Atleast for a superhero movie.

I watched it with a friend later. It got a bit better after the first 30 minutes but I can't give it more than 6.

7.5/10

Loved the much more colorful GOTG vibe, the humor was hitting more than it missed, and goddamn, Blanchett really rocks that goth-chick look.

She was a major disappointment for me..

Terrible hair, especially in the first several scenes (wtf have they done to her hair? They need to fire whoever was responsible), terrible makeup, atrocious clothes (other characters were dressed horribly too). Don't get me wrong, I like goth style in general but this was just bad.

Her acting was almost cringeworthy but it was the fault of the script.

Why hire a great actress to play such a badly written role anyway?

Entertaining
They went for comedy in the vein of Guardians of the Galaxy with Zero consideration for the Marvel characters in play.

Borg McLaBeouf - 7/10

This attempt could have gone terribly wrong, but it managed to be competent(ish) and thorough enough without resorting to oomphy forehands. Borg's background and all his antics make him the true protagonist of the clash, even though Shia playing the 'just do it' character in an exuberant swearing McEnroeian mood and with the frizzy hairstyle has its charm.

Thor Ragnarock 'n roll - 6,5/10

An entertaining Thor movie is something that I thought I'd never witness, kudos to Taika Waititi for miraculously making it happen. Plenty of lighthearted moments, the awkwardly hilarious Korg, The Goldblumsaurus playing...an alternative version of himself Very Happy Laughing, solid pacing and special effects with a nice joyful synth soundtrack. I didn't care for the main "plot" and I'll probably never really like any of the main characters from this universe, but it was a relatively pleasant watch also considering the excruciating experience with the previous thurr and lords of thundhurr.

Jigsaw - 3/10

Surprised their soft-reboot ends up being more of the same (all the twists are carried over from earlier films), only with even less of an edge - this film is more akin to a TV movie. Even the "Hello Zep" theme sounded completely anemic during the finale and don't make me laugh at the replacement of "Game over" as the final line... Laughing

Might somehow be better than the previous film in the franchise though which was complete lol.

It was like they tried to make a parody and a proper movie at the same time. I'd rather watch a Marvel-parody than this nonsense. It tried so hard to cash in on the Guardians of the Galaxy style but fell really flat.

you KNOW a movie is stupid when even i chuckle out loud at stuff. the entire last act on the station was really horrible.

as for the rest of the movie... honestly, i didnt hate it. i just thought it was.. bland. average. an "OK" destruction movie. A poor mans 2012. It needed MORE destruction, a grander scale... more insanity and craziness. Films like this NEED to be dialed up to 11, otherwise they just become.. well.. geostorm.

That was the perfect Gerard Butler movie as in exactly like the previous ones.

A Bad moms christmas (2017) 5/10
A lot of dick and pussy jokes that wore thin very quickly...don't even know why I watched it. Bored out of my skull I am. Laughing

The Polka king (2017) 4/10
Don't know why I watched this either, maybe seeing this on Netflix and starring Jack Black intrigued me to a certain level. Well it was boring and I maybe laughed a little in one scene..that's it. :/

Mayhem (2017) 8/10
Damn, now that was a funny with nice action. I've seen Samara Weaving in the Babysitter and she was good here too and also very hot. Very Happy

Thor: Ragnarok (2017) 7/10
I liked it, there was a few jokes that went overboard but luckliy there weren't too many of them. Didn't like the valkyrie woman at first that much...all that "I'm such a badass" way of acting put me off a bit.

Jumanji: Welcome back to the jungle (2017) 8/10
Liked this one too. Kevin Hart always plays Kevin Hart, but he wasn't all that annoying this time. Very Happy
Jack Black in this was funny and overall the cast had good chemistry and the jokes worked well.

Thor Ragnarok - pretty fun 7/10. Totally stupid and humor was not too funny but somehow it was still not boring.

Arrival... oh boy was this a piece of shit with a shitty twist. Boring at that too. Not even going to score it.

Jack Black did a similar type of flick back in 2011 called Bernie so I was expecting something similar with the polka king. Both movies aren't laugh out loud but rather interesting and focus on the absurdity of the situation both people were in.
I would give both movies 6/10 as they were barely just above average.

hdr? Do that add that stuff later on? How can that work? Do they still had the film and re-rendered the cg effects? If it's fake post HDR, it can't be that good :/

Why does HDR have to be something related to the CGI elements only instead of the whole film?

And even if it's "fake", sure it can look good. I don't know about this specific transfer, but e.g. Blade Runner and Unforgiven have been said to look amazing in their latest 4K HDR iterations.

It's just a recolour. For movies they render every cgi raw. When scenes are built all the assets are secured and safe and often they're also recoloured for re-releases, but still flatish to a point to match the final colour. A lot of fake releases just crush the black add some perference correction and export it as hdr :/.

In reality if you know how to set up your tv... hdr is just a fancy setting. Maintaining clean and crisp 4K is more important.

@The_Zeel Not really. Every movie after a certain date... everything is stored for re-releases. Not just the final product. Edit is done on raw, then cg and then colour. At least that's how we do it here. So you have a raw edit that can be coloured and recoloured at anytime whenever. Just digital shits need to be uprezzed and look like shit. Though a lot of people don't see it. Lol
