Hi all, I've recently had an accident and will be off work for a few weeks, since there's been nothing out on xbox for a few weeks, I am bored!

Theres only so much of a PES5 master league you can play in one go, so what i'm asking is this.

A month or two ago, I discovered Beyond Good and Evil by accident, which was excellent, i must have missed it first time round, and i loved it. I was hoping someone could suggest some hidden/missed gems for me to go and grab to pass my hours away, I have around 300 games for my xbox and do make a habit of grabbing all i can, so a lot of suggestions might be ones i have, but if anyone can recommend a classic, i'd be very grateful! All opinions will be considered!! Any genre or size of game will do!

Please help !!

Obscure was awesome in 2-player mode. Will probably be good singleplayer too.
Fahrenheit is good. True Crime N.Y is good. And Fable is very good!
Prince of Persia games are always good..
Silent Hill 4!
SSX On Tour!
Star Wars Episode 3!

You probably got them all, but have you beaten them all? Wink

Yes, that´s the one. Storyline is kinda half-assed, but you really get drawn into it after a few hours! Halfway through the game me and my friend was really addicted Razz
NYC is better, yes.

no problems Wink

I just went through my collection and pulled out some of the games that I have at one point found enjoyable but rarely hear mentioned nor are they the most obvious games so hopefully you haven't played them.

Call of Cthulhu
Super Monkey ball DX
ESPN NFL 2K5, MLB 2K5 World Series Edition, 2K Sports World Poker Tour
Capcom Classic Collection (for Super/Ghouls and Ghosts & Ghosts and Goblins)
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Terminator 3 Redemption
Sphinx the Cursed Mummy
Jet Set Radio Future
Crimson Skies
Crash Twinsanity
Dino Crisis 3
Otogi 1 or 2
Soul Caliber 2
Test Drive Eve of Destruction
The Urbz
Timesplitters 2 (and 3 of course)
Ghost Master
Kingdom under Fire (Crusaders and Heroes)
Phantom Dust
Unreal Championship 2
Pirates
Blitz: the League
Aggressive Inline
Sonic the Hedgehog/Street Fighter/Megaman Aniversary & Mega Collections

Its hard to pick for someone else when you don't know what they already have and what there into so I tryed to mix it up with a good spread of genres. Wink

Badurs Gate Dark Alliance II was very enjoyable if you like RPGs. The 1st was ok but not as good as the 2nd in the series

ok, few recent ones to go on with there.

What about the ones from the very early days of the xbox? Any of the really older games worth a look? The ones that came out before the modchips and stuff?

I've decided to give lord of the rings the third age a whirl for now, and punisher. Although punisher does get boring.

Spent many a spare hour so far on LOTR TTA, time i didn't have when it was released

I finished Punisher on PC two or three weeks ago and I thought it was awesome! Together with Max Payne 2 the best third person shooter ever imo. But play it with the violance hacks! It was so merciless. Laughing
I've read at IGN that Volition is working on a sequel. I can't wait!!

Both Oddworld games are great as is sphinx & the cursed mummy which is a game i almost missed but played to the end and loved its a little slow for the first hour but its awesome overall very mario adventure'ish.

As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

I'd like to add a game I really like. *sigh* I wish I had more time to play my Xbox games, but typically it's like:"Oh, a new game! Let's see what this is.". Then I play for about 15 minutes, reset my Xbox, and put anohter one in... It's not that I'm picky or that I don't like games; rather the contrary I'd say. I like most of my games, though I have to admit that, for some of them, I didn't go out and buy them. So I'm not a person who hates everything that's released. I have a few buddies who are my total opposites; they dis and mock all the games for most of the systems.

'nuff 'bout that. Yes, the game I would like to introduce you to is: *drumroll*
Mortal Kombat:Shaolin Monks by Midway

I normally don't like beat'em-ups, at least not in the SF II series style. So when I got this game my first thought was "Hmmm, another brutal two-characters-punding-eachother-senseless fighting game". But when I started to play the game I realized that this was a huge step away from the normal bashing.

Hard to pigeonhole. Think "Mortal Kombat" in a "Final Fight" brawler, move the scenery from the cityslum to a more serene setting on a small island in the Pacific Ocean. I said serene, but wait 'til the bad guys arrive Wink

All charcters are superbly modeled and the voice-overs aren't awful. The movies are absolutely stunning. PLUS you and a friend can play together in Ko-Op Mode, making a great game become awesome.

Of course, you can play by yourself but things tend to get a little bit harder without a partner.

Other games I'd recommend:
The Bard's Tale - InXile
Buffy the Vampire Slayer:Chaos Bleeds - Sierra
Burnout Series - Acclaim/EA Games
Crimson Skies:High Road to Revenge - MS Game Studios
OutRun2 - Sega
Robotech:Invasion - Global Star
Star Wars:Ep. III:Revenge of the Sith - LucasArts
Still Life - Microids
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 - EA Sports

Of course there are many other great games but now you've been given new ideas. I hope you find and play a game you like.

Get well!

Aside from a few very irritating puzzles that didn't click well with my own logic I'd also say Still Life was a good game.

If you play it and find that you like it russ_beer you could also check out Syberia and Syberia 2 if you haven't played them before. There made by the same developers and if your somebody that reads alot into ratings Syberia had the better review scores across the sites.

I'd started back on Halo 2 single player campaign mixed with a little co-op - its a sign of just how good a game it is that as a huge PC and FPS fan the game is still every bit as enjoyable as the best that platform has to offer. I'd also forgot just how great looking a game it is. Smile

hehe talking about platform. i picked up super mario bros 3 the other day for my girls ds. damn those games were solid. straight A's thats for sure!

games that i really enjoyed playing thru a couple of times on xbox would be: halo, halo2 (and yes it looks good, makes me cry when i think about stubbs the zombie though), ninja fkn gaiden, sc:ct, oddworld:sw, and some more.

now i got the urge for some psychonauts. that game was just crazy.

Never played it on the DS but I can remember back when the Nes was the big thing myself and one of my mates picked up the game and we were just blown away. There literally was nothing even remotely like it, truely an original of its time and technically very impressive for a Nes title. I'd also argue that its the best Mario game ever made.

In the absence of anything new (or good) im still playing my precious Super Monkeyball DX in an attempt to complete all of the levels, the cut scene where Dr Bad-Boon declares his intention to make all bananas taste like curry still makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it. Very Happy

haha yeah super monkey ball is hillarious. "icky icky poo" or what the monkey says makes me crack up every time. some levels are insanely hard, but yet a very rewarding feeling beating them, while some on the other hand just needs a good sheer of luck. Very Happy

and hell yes; smb3 must be the best game in the mario series.

hmmm Super Monkey Ball and Super Marion Bros = 2xSMB ...ehrm nevermind.
