I bought recently one of these:

nice stuff and you can also smoke liquids and resins; but vaping herbs (mainly if you dont have access to good herbs) seems a bit different of smoking a joint. Still getting used to it.
there are a lot of good options , firefly 2, might , pax 2-3..., but all will depend if you adapt to vaping herbs. So maybe get something not very expensive first.

im still satisfied with the kbox mini. only thing i maybe would want is a new tank with top filling. is there anything out which could work fine with the kbox mini? i dont even use the 50w it offers, im fine with 25w and 0,5 ohm wires + bacon cotton

i also never understood why one would want to go over 30w, but hey - to each his own.
if you want something with top fill, just grab a kayfun5, taifun gt3, hussar or maybe a hurricane. worried about the price? <20€ clones of those are top notch. or just get a serpent (mini), i love that thing. they all beat the subtank in terms of usability and flavor and work with every kind of single coil, from a puny 32ga microcoil up to whatever sort of clapton you can fit without causing a short.
and while the kbox certainly does a good job of delivering whatever wattage you've set - DNA devices are a cut above it since you can customize temp control and ramp up to perfection.

the serpent mini looks great and smaller (in terms of not as tall as the the subtank mini), think im gonna order one next week. still have a lot of kantal wire left. imho for me thats enough, same goes for the temp control and ramp up stuff. i dont need that

a note on the serpent mini: due to the way you fasten your coil, anything but a clapton is quite a bitch to fit in since the screw bolt won't catch a thin wire that easily. if you want to continue working with standard wire, get a kayfun (clone) - they are built for exactly that sort of thing (and also easy as fuck to wick and maintain).

Interesting night tonight.
Listen here 'Bob'!, I'm 'hateful' again
Car is off the road for this week, so I'm taking bus home. I Arrive at my stop with around 5 mins till due, and its pissing down with rain. It's an open shelter and I'm vaping away, as normal. Woman at the end of shelter smoking, but just outside, and getting quite wet.
This knob end comes up to me and says your not supposed to smoke here, I said, I don't smoke, and haven't done so for nearly 4 years, he then proceeded to say something, along the lines that I was smoking etc. I lost it! (been 10 years since I done that)
I said, the woman at end of shelter has more smoke blowing in here than I will ever have coming out of this thing, and it ain't even smoke, so get out of my face m8 or I'll lamp you one, OK?
Long story short, he has a burst face, and missed his bus, but the reason why I am angry is, my hairline is now messed up, as I used the 'Glasgow Kiss' method, and only coz he was in my face at the time, now a little make-up will have to be used
The ignorance today is beyond belief.

headbutting people after using a TFV12 isn't exactly the thing that puts vaping in a good light. i get weird looks from people (especially older folks) from time to time and even on a bus stop in a big city (with all the air pollution this entails) where the tiny amount of vapor from my serpent mini should be the least of one's concerns...i'd just stop if somebody feels threatened by it - there's no reason to get into an argument about it. on the other hand, i get quite a few positive comments about it, especially the smell. and a while ago when i was vaping outside a hospital, a security guard came up to me from behind and was like "sir, you're not allowed to smoke...oh wait it's an e-cig, nevermind".
people are slowly realizing it's not a bad thing, it just takes a while.
also, in other news: there are finally usable dry herb attys that screw on a vape mod!

Yup. Subohm is not too kind on the juice or batteries.

"subohm" doesn't mean shit on a VW device. surely i would never put them in a mech (although they are underrated and would probably do just fine), but when you just set it to 30w for example, 30w goes through the wire, no matter if it's 1 or 0,1 ohm.
so a 18650 cell has between 3,2 (mod won't fire below) to 4,2 (fully charged) volts. ampere = W/V, so in the worst case (nearly empty cell), you would have to fire it at above 45w to get into somewhat dangerous territory, while on average 55w would be just fine.
so as long as long as your device is regulated and you're not exactly using double massive alien coils with a single battery, you're just fine with any decent 3000mah battery.

Whoa!
Just had an incident with a battery malfunction of sorts. My damn mod just heated up like crazy (got burnmarks on my thumb from trying to open the lid) to the point where I didn't feel it being safe, so I went to my local dump and asked where to put it. 4 years without incident and now this, I guess I need to replace all my batteries then.

Yeah. I replace my 18650's after 6 months (they are never off charging - 2 sets repeatedly), so 4 batteries in that time is pretty good, and @ £12 a pair, I'd rather have safety, as these things are pretty volatile at the best of times, more so when sub ohming.

Yeah, the batteries I had in were quite old (cirka 15 months) and used so I should have switched them out sooner. I've already ordered new batteries to replace the ones I have now as I really don't want another incident. I had to throw away my whole mod as the thing was getting hot (I burned myself trying to open the bottom lid) and was probably ruined on the inside.

@TheZor
AFAIK there are no leak-proof tanks, they will all leak under the right/wrong circumstances.
Also, I wouldn't go for the cheap stuff when starting so the subox isn't a bad starter actually.
Edit:
Personally, I'm not that fond of kangertech but I guess it works well as a starter. I would also suggest buying from Aliexpress or Fasttech (takes like 2-4 weeks for shipping) as I've noticed it's half the price there compared to my "local" vapeshop. The only things I buy locally are batteries and the juice (and sometimes coils).

best advise would be to visit a shop and try some stuff.
It`s not as simple as lighting a cig.
seriously - if you just buy something online, chances are very high, you are frustrated by the results you get.
