Black flag was fun, so this is fun. Unity is not fun, so it's not fun. The story in Unity is not fun, the characters also were not fun. So not a lot of fun.
The price obviously is not a factor for most of us.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered sets sail in March
Quote:
Assassin's Creed Rogue (aka Black Flag 2) is getting a remastered launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

All DLC missions and weapon packs will be included, along with a new outfit - the one worn by Assassin's Creed Oranges hero Bayek in last year's new game.

Looks terrible. AC Unity didn't do much good, but it did bring physically-based rendering, where materials look like materials. It took Ubisoft a while to stabilize their PBR renderer, but it looked stunning. This...

Actually I'm not really seeing a difference at all from the existing Rogue PC release with that, it already runs at up to 3840x2160 far as I know and the visuals are on par with AC3 running on Anvil 2.0 before Anvil Next which was used by AC Unity and beyond.

It's a short teaser clip though but to me it looks just like Assassin's Creed 3 did so aside from supporting a higher display resolution on consoles just what did they change? Anything?

We'll see I suppose. Dark Souls 1 was at least confirmed to be getting engine improvements, higher resolution textures, native 60 FPS in addition to running at a higher display resolution but this? Well it looks unchanged like I said.

Well, Rogue was made for the earlier gen consoles (ps3 & 360) and was released between AC IV: Black Flag and AC: Unity so the tech is obviously AC IV.

When it came out I thought it looked worse than Black Flag. Maybe it's because of the setting.

Unless this is a free upgrade for those that own it already it will be a pass for me.

Yes, of course, I understand that, but calling a resolution change a "remaster" is insulting. At the time, people were speaking his Rogue is a better game than Unity, which may be so (I never tried it), so if it was a real remaster, using the latest tech, I would have liked to try it.

It was the spin off that took place in Ancient Florida.

FYI, this remaster is not coming out for PC. Some sites got it wrong.

As for the game itself, I think it features the best story after the events of the trilogy. From Black Flag onwards, random artifacts of eden made the game meaningless story-wise. And Origins sucked IMO.

yeah i liked the game, its probably the most honest and well reasoned story of the lot... asians, temples... doesnt matter which, theyre both as bad as each other. was a very refreshing experience.

also boats. honestly, boats was the best thing the franchise ever did.

from what i saw from comparision its not much of a remaster anyway - more of a port of PC version
... basically small texture and shadows improvements compared to PC version ... but apparently not even XboneX/PSBro cant achieve 60fps and its very unstable unlike PC version
