Back in 2002 I bought a hacked Xbox which allowed me to play DVD-R games or run games straight off the (8GB!!) hard drive with EvolutionX. I used it quite a bit at the time to play GTA VC and Fable but after moving in 2005, it stayed behind in the attic of my father's house.
Skip 10 years later and my father's new girlfriend was throwing out all kinds of stuff from the attic and luckily I was able to stop her from ditching my Xbox. Upon turning it on, it worked ... until I tried to play any game and it froze mid-game. It also made quite a bit of noise and the power button no longer worked. oops. It stayed in its box due to lack of space and TV in my small apartment.
Skip another 5 years and I bought a house, moving out of my tiny apartment and I got a big couch, a brand new 4K TV and a enough room to put all my consoles next to it. So I opened the Xbox up, discovered that the clock capacitor had been leaking which caused the death of the power down function (doesn't work from either button or from the menu). No big deal: pulling the power plug works for turning it on and off.
Second problem: thermal paste for both the GPU and CPU had grown rock solid - lots of cleaning and slicing at the hard compound later I replaced it with Arctic Silver 5, cleaned the fans, added some silicon oil, removed the bad clock capacitor, cleaned the motherboard and also upgraded the hard drive from 8GB to 120GB (the largest PATA drive I had).
End result: it now runs at a cool 55°C under stress (about the right temp for an Xbox), makes no noise and has room for about 40 games on its hard drive.
TL;DR: completely fixed old Xbox to make it work well again and now need games to play.

action rpgs by From Software. I can't really remember the specifics well but I recall really enjoying these games and I believe they're not that well known. (though they may be mentioned in those videos KC posted. I see them in background in the thumbnail )
