Blade Runner 2049 - 8/10
Enjoyed it. Could have used a trim here and there but it was a solid watch overall.

Payback - 6/10
Filled with cliche's and sketchy dialogue but I still like it anyway Cool

A Taxi Driver - 7.5/10
Fun, sad and uplifting all in one. Good performances all round and I expected no less from Song Kang-ho.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle 7.5/10

Had a lot of fun. It is all you could wish for it is and all that you'd expect in cheesiness. Stays true to it's theme and established rules.

Happy Death Day 5/10

Groundhog Day meets Scream in a college campus setting. Predictable, somewhat boring and not even close to R-rated. Rather silly.

I've just had a lot of fun! And it's not something I can say often when going to a cinema, especially that all the freaking movies have to be 3 hours long now.

Very reaistic and dramatic. And considerbaly small amount of patriotic stuff (it is there but just as much as needed).

Little big soldier

This was really really good. A genuine surprise from jackie chan, once again not quite playing the type of role you expect. The humor was far more genuine than his traditional slapstick style, and he also gave, at times, a really solid dramatic performance. Throw in a couple of neat fights, and an organic and well developed story and pair of characters, and this turned out to be a really good film.

The Untamed \ La región salvaje (2016)

7-/10

This was a kinda WTF film . It reminded me of Possession (1981) by Andrzej Żuławski.

The tentacles sex scene was great Laughing The Japanese would love it.

The Guardian review is pretty spot-on and explains some things.

It

Meh, it was ok. A big step down from the director of the amazing mama. It had a couple of great scenes/scares
 Spoiler:

but a lot of uneven sequences too
 Spoiler:

... I'd liken this to a thrill ride type film... Just a string of horror sequences stitched together, intended to be enjoyed in the moment and not really analysed or thought too hard about, and as such it never really elevates itself as a film. It's been too long since I saw the original, so I don't know if I'd prefer this film.. and I can't remember if the flaws in this film were just inherent in the original story.

I feel like it could have done with a little editing to tighten up the pace a bit.

I did like the finale though.

Oh and why oh why did they have to use the most unlikeable shithead from stranger things in this, and deliberately make him an even bigger annoying piece of shit. I get it.. The filmmakers desperately wanted to ride on that zesty stranger things hype, but seriously... take ANY other one of the kids, I don't care which.

i really liked it! its refreshing to see a dramatic thriller like this, where the plot/revelations arent outlandish in its twists, or overly simplified. it was a good, intriguing and rational story with great performances all round.. and as an added bonus, a SUPER satisfying ending! fuck that was felt good to watch.
