Baldman confirmed this:

https://www.google.co.il/amp/s/arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/06/crackers-say-denuvo-drm-caused-slowdown-on-rime/%3famp=1

And I am pretty sure benchmarks for other games saw similer results as well..

Denuvo is known to be arrogant and never admit thier mistakes.

RiME at least for me it didn't get any performance boost after denuvo removal it still ran like shit even 3-4 patches after denuvo was gone.
If there is some performance cost on some games its IMO, because of the custom shit devs code on top of denuvo itself. The biggest problem of denuvo is its dependency on their servers to generate licenses. Some day this will cause huge problems to customers.

About ACO i don't know what magic is this, but its running a lot better for me than the previous two AC games. And my PC is pretty much the same.

Rime got a improvement but it was also from fixing the way that water rendered even when not visible so culling that saw some really good gains on older GPU models because the intensity of the UE4 water shaders. Smile

Denuvo might have had some hand in it though, I think the water reflection fix was in a patch after the DRM removal so it could technically be tested.

Definitively improved the start up speed if nothing else though having to no longer do a license validation and occasional refresh of said license. Smile

@JackQ: That Doom test makes no sense at all. How does comparing the vanilla game with DRM, to the patched up game (with newer drivers also) tell you anything? Is it the removal of Denuvo, or the patches and new drivers that did the trick?

Just a reminder:

Quote:
“In Rime that ugly creature went out of control – how do you like three fucking hundreds of THOUSANDS calls to ‘triggers’ during initial game launch and savegame loading? Did you wonder why game loading times are so long – here is the answer,” Baldman explained.

“In previous games like Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, NieR Automata, Prey there were only about 1000 ‘triggers’ called, so we have x300 here.”

But according to the cracker, the 300,000 calls to triggers was a mere “warmup” for Denuvo. After just 30 minutes of gameplay, the count rose to two million, a figure he delivered with shocked expletives.

Now add to that another layer of VM DRM and Ubisoft incompetence.

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks this does not affect performance is mentally challenged

lol

On a serious note, at higher resolutions CPU is less "important" (that's why they test CPU bottleneck on lower resolutions) and Denuvo's hundreds of thousands calls to trgigers and shit use CPU.

However, this benchmark (the image above) is not ideal to say the least considering the game was patched and we have no idea how much this affected performance in general.

Anyways, it's us, 4 core 8 threads CPU owners, who are fucked. Of course if you have an 8-16 core beast you can "bruteforce" anything ubilol throws at you.

Yea, the difference is really so minimal.
The testert itself might even just have fucked up the benchmark, which resulted in the FPS difference.

But i bet the tester did the benchmark at release without any patches, and then later with the cracked version ( which included some patches). I know that at least one of them improved performance for some people.

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to understand at all how powerful CPUs are with those simple commands.

The only way to compare it would be the same version of the game with the same drivers and ONLY protection on/off.

Anything else is just tainted by default.

Also, we live in a time, where 1.0 usually means "and here is 1.1 0day patch to fix half the game" rofl.

Okay, then show me proof. Undeniable, hard factual proof. Not like Doom above, after 30 GB of patches and 7 frame difference. Or maybe thats the actual proof denuvo means nothing to performance.

All this nonsense, denuvo fries hard drives, denuvo reduces performance. No, it doesnt fry drives, no it doesnt reduce performance in a perceivable manner.

We keep repeating this vm stuff on Origins and the number of triggers, but they're just empty words because we're just simple people on a fucking forum and we havent got the fucking slightest idea about anything we keep mentioning here. We're just paroting two crackers that cant crack the game, with no proof, as always.

How does volsky know what vm is doing? How does he know its impact? How does he know how that is has any impact vs unprotected game? He doesnt, because he's continually pulling shit out of his ass, laying it out bare and forum people angry the newest game isnt available for free day 0 are eating it and spreading it on every corner of the internet. He posted a screenshot that contained the letters VM and then proceeded to make claims based on hot air.

We have no idea how the tech in Origins works, whats it doing, what goes on under the hood, but that doesnt stop us from comparing it with other games that "look better" because we deemed it so by doing a naked eye analysis and claiming how unoptimized it is. We dont know anything of course, but surely its unoptimized because it doesnt run at ultra on our 7 year old cpus

i said about Origins that we dont know. We do know about a handfull of titles that got denuvo removed that they're basically the same. And hdd's havent exploded from playing denuvo games. So we do know a bit.

above you. Doom has 1 frame more even. Laughing Choose any game from denuvo wiki that has denuvo removed. Did any of those games made headlines that all of a sudden were running much better? Substantially better? This was nonsense propagated when denuvo first apeared by us angry pirates with noting to back it. Then we kept repeating it to this day regardless of reality.

One thing Ubisoft can is create great Art.

addicting?

They have a superhuge map, but like 5 activity types.

for me it was (after 5 hours or so): I don't have the mood to even start the game.

It is definetly addicting to explore the map, atleast for me.

This one is by far the best Ass Creed (after/besides Brotherhood) IMHO.

yeah, at least graphically + artwise its AAA grade.

But the activities really killed it for me. Started playing again in the past days, but needed to take a month break from it.

Hey, that's 4 more activities than the previous games, where you just collected flags / feathers / used condoms.

Awesome

what if the game is cracked tomorrow and performance is still the same? people will still find something to blame like not being a proper crack couse its a bypass etc.

if performance is better with the game cracked then ubisoft will face a pr nightmare for some days, if not and the performance will not change then they will always have the "i told you so" to everyone who asks if denuvo effects peformance

What do you mean? It runs pretty good for a Ubisoft game on my 3570/970 system. It's not as detailed as Unity was, but it looks very good IMO.
