I may be biased because its Star Wars, but i still enjoy the game very much and play it for at least few hours every day.
It improves on the previous game on basically every aspect.
I paid ~45€ for it, and for 40% off i would definately get it.
Also the progession system with the starcards is not that bad.
Most of the cards just improve something with a small amount. For example 40% more health as a trooper just means you survive one more shot.
Though there are some cards that actually improve your skill set, like giving Bobs rocket barrage more rockets and reduce the firing time.
Or like giving Vaders choke ability more damage the more people you manage to target at once.
Though you are in no way dependant on lootcrates to get the cards, since you can just craft it for a very small price. Just their upgrading will cost more and more.
The only thing i hate about it is, that there is no fucking team shuffle after a map end.
So the team that just steamrolled you, will in most cases do so the next map(s) too.

Bought it and started the SP campaign. Not bad at all.
MP is fun.
But, one thing that I don't understand is... when would I touch a lightsaber and be able to play with a Jedi or Sith???? the fuck.
You don't get to play with a lightsaber at all in the campaign. Only in the "arcade mode" scenarios (they're like a piss poor offline MP with bots).
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

actually you do get to play as a jedi/sith with a lightsaber on 2 ocasions in the campaign ...
Oh shit, that's right. Short little jaunts towards the end. My bad. Guess they were so underwhelming I forgot about them shortly after finishing heh.

So.. erm, yeah i got the game, played 8 hours (2 sp mission and the rest mp) and.. refunded it..
I am a HUGE star wars fan... The atmosphere is there.. but some things just feel not quite right about the game.
The campaign is horrible as expected (mostly the idiotic AI - even on hard), but that is not a big deal.
There is no server browser, so no way to play the maps i like and the rotation can be a mess. No real squads or deployments on the leader as in some other proper games.
The progression sucks ass. There are only 3 unlockable weapons per class + a few lootbox abilities and that is all you can do to progress. I love Battlefield 4.. and i loled when i saw the available weapons and loadout options in this game... At least if the EA would have finished the character customization that is found in the game code...
The difference between the factions and the classes within is purely cosmetic (aside elements of the enforcer class). There are some obvious no brainer class options missing in place for just another trooper reskin.. (no droideka ?)
The vehicles are poorly implemented - especially the fighters in the galactic assault mode - they serve no objective purpose beside some random dogfights. Come on it is Star Wars... it should be massive and epic... with drivable troop carriers rolling around the map, deploying squads of players... or multi crew vehicles at all... There should be artillery units and bombers assisting the ground forces... not some random AT-ST or on rail AT-AT and a bunch of troopers running for cover..
I don't like the design of some of the maps.. like Hoth or the new one - as the rebels / resistance you just spawn in a killzone and get one shoted the moment you show your nose... There are some other maps that are just a big clusterfuck ....
Aside that the game can be fun sometimes... but it seems there ate so many things missing or feeling out of place for me... I guess i will give it another shot - when there is more content and when the price is no more than 20 euro.

I might pick it up myself when it drops to 20, but anything over 20 is too steep for me when it comes to this game.
I agree with most things you said. Personally think GA is the best mode in the game.
