So is this game mostly like a Zelda game?

The other difference is that Zelda runs well |
yup and this runs so subpar on normal ps4 its just laughable ... from 5 to 22 fps on base ... 22 to 30 fps on Pro ... #FORTHEPLAYERS

Finished it, wow what a journey...and that epic ending, easily 9.5/10. Shame about some fps problems and shitty controls, but still that doesn't stop this game from being awesome..

Actually no, I haven't.
I am half tempted to buy this if it's like a Zelda game (aka dungeon type puzzles, similar gameplay).
Still can't quite work out if it's worth it or similar enough though!

I couldn't finish the game because of the terrible frame rate.
I'll play it again only if they patch it or if I have PS4 pro.
And I'm not a frame rate whore (yes I'm the same cyclonefr that mock PC gamers praising PC master race 60fps@4K)....

Controls are fine IMO, but I beat both ICO and shadow of the colossus so I knew what to expect.
FPS is ok, playable.
The gameplay itself is ok, but the connection you feel to Trico is amazing. I caught myself finding food for him, because I don't want him to be hungry, or feeling sorry for him when taking spears out of him.
It must've been an amazing task, definitely unprecedented, to create such a character in a game. I constantly look at Trico and think "I wonder what the AI will do now".

My god this game... it's an amazing experience, reminds me of the original tomb raider and the feels it gave me back then. Great exploration and puzzles, mechanics.
Trico, wow, the animations and the behaviour, they nailed it.
Also HDR . No comment. Comparing it to SDR, everything looks real. I finally saw what it's about , pc implementations (shadow warrior 2/obduction.. re7 wasn't exactly pc but doesn't come close to this at all) suck compared to this. Guess it's not only the hdr but the 10bits at work too. Shame it can't be shown online, only in person. The amount of extra details in shadows plus in highlights in same scene while having 1bil colors to wirk with and keep the look natural ... quite the visual treat. I still can't believe how big of a thing it actually is. Also how many people are missing out on it with badly calibrated sets / fake hdr (8bit panels, low nits etc) ...

I just got a PS4 Pro, so I am on the hunt for games. I got Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4 and Persona 4 incoming. I wanted to ask whether it would be wiser to wait for the HD remake of SoC before playing this one? Are the stories and/or worlds connected in any way? Do they still patch this game due to performance problems?

Not connected in any way that matters. Play them in whatever order you want.

Back in March when I completed it, it wasn't patched, but I played it on non-Pro version.

Thanks, It's great to be here! I still need Deelix welcome, since he always was a guru here. I remember in 360 days, he always reviewed the game while everyone else was still burning it lol. I loved that time of isodemos 2 weeks before retail heh.
Anyway - Last Guardian IS a masterpiece. amazing, moving experience which i will never forget. Perfect.
