Best game of the year so far for me.Story, gameplay, concept are amazing.Puzzles are logical, every stage can be completed in multiple ways. The whole 'life after marriage' concept is analyzed in depth, game has a Lynch feeling all over. It's obvious that the game is for open minded people and especially married men.Great work again by Atlus.

ok, this game is definitely "best games no one ever played" material. best sleeper hit since NIER imo.

I'm going a little nuts here -- where's the PAL release Razz

The european release is still some time away, they just found a publisher for Europe and are currently localizing it.

But overall i really like the game .Especially the social aspect of the story (marriage/affairs) and the conversations with the people. . Also the english voice overs are very good!

Code:
As Catherine's protagonist Vincent prepares to enter into a love triangle of his own when the game launches in North America next week, details of a PAL release have finally come forward, with Atlus and Deep Silver entering into a realationship of their own to bring Catherine to PAL territories.

“We are very proud to be able to publish Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver game”, says Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver. “Catherine is something new, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world – a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once again that games published under the Deep Silver label are not ‘more of the same’, ‘run of the mill’ productions.”

Featuring localised text in French, German, Italian and Spanish, Catherine will be coming to PAL territories, bringing its unique blend of relationship anxiety as Vincent must choose between commitment with Katherine or a fling with Catherine, while having fevered conundrum-filled nightmares plagued with sheep and towering block puzzles.

“Atlus is very pleased to collaborate with an experienced, passionate publisher like Deep Silver for the release of Catherine in Europe,” stated Shinichi Suzuki, President and CEO of Atlus. “Like us, they are dedicated to releasing interesting, unique entertainment content for their fans.  They share our belief that Catherine’s unprecedented exploration of the psychology and horrors of commitment and relationships, its breathtaking visual design, and its frantic action-adventure/puzzle gameplay make for a thought-provoking, entertaining experience that cannot be missed.”

A date for Catherine's release in PAL regions has yet to be announced. Watch this space!

oh and its also CENSORED Laughing , has the US DEARPA HERPA PATCH that deleted one level that was too hard and added a PISS EASY difficulty

Quote:
Atlus made major modifications to Catherine via a balancing patch. The PlayStation 3 patch is live and it even adds a new difficulty level – super easy mode.

A major tweak in super easy difficulty is the drink assist feature. Hold down select on PS3 or the back button on Xbox 360 during nightmare mode to make a drink item appear. Chug it and Vincent will be able to climb three tiers of steps in one move. Since Vincent can fly up the tower with a power-up drink, the nightmare part’s difficulty should be cut significantly.

The patch also balances the number of retries a pillow grants Vincent. If you recall from the demo (which was set to easy mode), Vincent would earn one retry each time he picked up a pillow. Catherine’s update gives Vincent three retries per pillow in easy mode. A pillow is worth two retries in normal mode. Hard mode remains unchanged, a pillow gives Vincent one retry. The way the system has been configured its possible to stock up on retries by grabbing a pillow close to a checkpoint and deliberately killing Vincent to grab the same pillow when he respawns.

Atlus also fixed an issue with the online leaderboards where players not appearing in the rankings and modified text to reflect the balance changes. If you don’t like the changes you can reset Catherine back to its original state by pressing R3 and L3 (or both analog stick buttons on the Xbox 360 controller) at the same time.

Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the Catherine patch file too, but a release date was not announced. Atlus is working with the hardware manufacturer (Microsoft) to sort that out.

SO if your on Jtag GET THE UNCENSORED NTSC VERSION !!!!!

XGD2?!

Fuck me a new game I can actually download and play lol

Wait was the NTSC version also XGD2?

Hmm guess it would be irrelevant anyway as I think it was region locked and wouldnt work on my PAL console anyway.

New endings, new story episodes, animated scenes and “sexy events” have been added to the game. There is also more than one new ending.
In addition to the original version of the game, the team at Atlus have prepared a wide range of difficulty levels and other adjustments for those who want to enjoy the story in a more convenient way.

There is a new mechanic where the player moves blocks where multiple are linked. Part of the new mechanic allows the player to link and move multiple blocks at once which presents new challenges, such as how to move not only cube-shaped blocks, but also blocks that have been linked together.

A network/online battle feature has been added. Atlus noticed the surprising popularity of the competitive Catherine scene overseas, and decided to add the ability to challenge others.
There is cross-save support planned between PS4 and PS Vita.
