No, SQ42 is single player campaign a la Freelancer. No MP involved.

But whether or not we'll actually ever play SQ42, that's another thing

So I logged in the game's site to check what's new with Squadron 42 and what do I see - PLEDGE NOW! ??!! Seriously? I am a backer since 2013 when they promised since the Kickstarter that SC and SQ42 will be 2 parts of the SAME game (or that's at least to all early backers) - one for multi- and the other for single- player. And now suddenly they made everyone pay separately for BOTH ??! I am sure somewhere in my profile it said I had SQ42 as well but now I can't find this anywhere. What kind of bullshit are CIG and CR becoming. I have never been so mad about this fucking game so far. Fucking greedy scumbags now having almost $180 millions and cry for more?!?! Fuck this. I was mostly defending the shit game but they are going too far. It will only get worse it seems. I am sure they will bury down every single good promise they made during the Kickstarter - expect microtransactions, monthly fees, and in-game ads for sure. The game will be pure cancer if ever released.

PS: It's even in the fucking pledge fuckshits at $ 2 million :

The images in my post above marked with the spoiler tag. Do you also have a "Pledge Now" in the Squadron 42 section of the site? I can add it to the cart and even checkout. I mean if it was some mistake it shouldn't make me checkout. I am thinking CIG are doing this stunt now to make people who don't know if they have it to double pay for SQ42 and then hope nobody even notice or refund it.

Pred, this was announced back in beginning of 2016 the "split" was so those who only wanted to buy Sqdrn 42 and not the mmo part could.. you have not been deprived of
your "complete" package of both .. it's just that now they are ramping up for a big "reveal" of Squadron 42 as they have been extremely quiet about it's progress other than
what assets they made or engine changes that were applicable to the MMO part.

So they are promoting "BUY THE SQUADRON 42" game with separate newsletter, game site, etc....

While there have been some questionable things going on, this is not one of them .

You still shouldn't be able to re-purchase something you already own. They could simply check your inventory and leave a message like "you already own this, congratz!" instead of the "PLEDGE NOW YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

That is something that should be brought up with them either through an email to support
or the forums...

Yes, I know they separated both games, which is part of that Crytek lawsuit against CIG since they really promised 1 game split in 2 parts at the beginning. They are just doing more and more things "on the edge" recently like they want to see if they get away with it. I really hope they will get back on Planet Earth and stop dreaming about space ponies. Hopefully a couple of lawsuits will do just this.

Edit: Oh thaks for reminding about that other retardiness with the episodic SQ42 when that's never mentioned in the Kickstarter and the stretch goals only mention SQ42 as one game with 70 missions and the first episode is supposed to have only 20.

Well, SQ42 is what I originally wnated for one, the MMO part was always a bonus.

So, hopefully the latest push means it will get released (and won't have FPS combat parts and the story and gameplay will be decent enough).

I would prefer if some of the money went for the WC licence for all this. I would be much more thrilled.

There has been massive improvements. The builds got more and more stable, I hardly remember what a crash handler looks like in comparison to the start of the PTU phase.

I log in every new patch and so i did today with the aq patch.


I got 15-18 FPS when spawning at olisar, wich is an improvement for me, i couldn't spawn a ship again, the airlocks did not work properly and when i came out my flashlight stil does not work or show up. By that time my fps already droipped to 12-15 ish. After finding someone who wanted to take me along, the game crashed to desktop when entering the co pilot seat of a cutlass...

I had some pretty fun hour long sessions at 8 fps in the earlier builds but it started hurting my head playing a slideshow, but the lates few versions i seem to encounter not as good a framerate improvement (never hits 25 for longer periods and usually drops under 10 after a few minutes playtime)but more important some gamebreaking bugs and crashes that prevent me from further 'testing' or simply don't make me want to anymore.


Huge improvements!!!

That being said, when I looked on their forums today... the mood has changed. Far more negativity than what I'm used of seeing there. I was really caught by surprise. Thought it would take a little bit longer (3.0 release) to see most turn on the project.
