People in the cinema laughed hard at this... terrible scene in a bad sw movie

The RLM episode will be glorious when they decide to cover this movie

came to realize how this movie is reversal on the "good guys plan always works out kind of deal" thats been rooted in previous movies
Spoiler:
The first thing that happens in the movie is Poe fucks up. He gets people killed. Then Luke fucks up by being dishonest. Poe fucks up again by not trusting Holdo and assuming her plan isn't gonna work. And then there's an entire B-plot about Finn and Rose spanning a third of this movie's running time that's all in service of fucking things up. But the fuck ups don't just stop with the good guys - Snoke fucks up royally by connecting Rey and Kylo, Kylo fucks up by assuming Rey is into him, obviously Phasma fucks up by not just gunning down Rose and Finn when she had the chance, and then Kylo fucks up yet again by letting his ego get in the way of Luke taking advantage of his fuck ups
This movie is about the mother of all fuck ups. I love it. Maybe that's why some people walk away dissatisfied with it; it's an endless string of a bunch of people doing things wrong. I love how so much of this stuff is spontaneous, it's the first movie in this series that feels more like an honest depiction of the "Wars" part of the title, even morethan Rogue One. Shit hits the fan when you least realize it and everyone acts on impulse with no idea where it's gonna lead.
Liked it more than A New Hope 2.0 errr... Force Awakens..
I mean come on...
Spoiler:
- Snoke bought the big biscuit a la Darth Maul.
- Suicide HyperSpace Collision was classic (but now I wonder why then would not some Rebel ships now be built exclusively to do this as the damage vs effort required at that range is soo much more beneficial? Just built some dummy ships to look like regular ones in the fleet and then send them on-ward against the First Order's largest ships == PROFIT!!)
- The Rebellion is now running on fumes so badly never seen in its entire history. It was nearly utterly wiped out for pete's sake down to a handful of people!!!
- How Luke was able to project himself over vast galactic distances and still fool a Dark Jedi-in-Waiting.
Granted, there was also lots of dumb shiet but we over-analyse everything these days..

That's why I loved it! It was great
I would have liked that part if it had actually mattered in the end. Unsurprisingly, it didn't and nobody seemed to reflect on their mistakes whatsoever.
Haven't finished watching this yet, but seems like they agree with my main gripe with this movie: could-have-been-awesome ideas that weren't pushed through and end up flat..

Hyperspace collision, Snoke throne room and Luke confrontation are not memorable?
The collision was nice CGI, but what was memorable about it? I thought the whole Snoke character was a joke and I did not like the fight in the throne room. What Luke confrontation do you mean?
tonight's the night... i didnt care for the previous, did like Rouge One though.
Rogue vs. rouge
A rogue is (1) a scoundrel, (2) a vicious or solitary animal, or (3) a fraudulent piece of software. The word is also an adjective meaning vicious and solitary. Rouge is a pinkish color or a reddish powder. It’s also a verb meaning to put rouge onto. It appears surprisingly often in place of rogue.
Gonna see it again this weekend with the step-family, maybe I'll enjoy it better
Spoiler:
I won't

I guess he means

i don't have a problem getting out my "inner child" for movies like this, but man, it really was all over the place. I will admit there were some nice scenes (like expected from a SW movie), but overall its my least favorite of all SW movies. The creature design was exceptionally bad, very cartoonish/disney but most of all just dull.. It was difficult to find any even remotely likeable characters in this. It really dragged too.
Was not expecting this to be honest, i thought this would be one of those movies where "everyone" says its shit and i love it, but no, not even close.. much worse than the prequels (which i enjoy for what it is). Even as a mindless action movie its not good because of the shitty pacing.
I don't get why they couldn't have some competent person doing it, i mean its fucking Star Wars?! Rian Johnson did Looper, okkkk? Its a pretty average movie and he's a nobody.
I don't know who directs Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels TV series but they are very competent people that knows the universe and a single episode of Clone Wars was better and more fun, more creative and way smarter than this. Such a waste to leave it to some nobody person and hope for the best. I doubt Disney lacks money and they got him because he was "within their tiny budget"
EDIT: watched RLM's, great as expected However i don't agree with them that the universe is lacking and there's nothing much to it. They really need to watch Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels and read some of the many SW books (huge range of quality, but some is fantastic), there's tons of fun stuff that could be done, and that's what's so sad about this direction.

@vurt
Way back then i thought Clone Wars was just some kids cartoon without much going on.
Boy was i glad that recently i changed my mind to try it out.
CW and Rebels are really so fun and well done shows!
Also Kenobi actually is a cool character there, compared to the shows.

Watched it two days ago, mainly liked it and was well entertained throughout. Even afterwards we were all plenty hyped and happy with it. The action was great, lots of battles, nice animations, good dialogue. Just a nice cinema experience.
But now, reflecting over the general story... yeah maybe it's more about failure, and playing with the viewers expectations, then shattering them. And that is alright too.
What I really missed was scope. What does this small rebel fleet and that handful of star destroyers have to do with anything in the galaxy? Why does it matter? A big part of the movie was 5 star destroyers chasing that fleet in some remote star system and destroying most of the rebels... but... how does this tie into anything?
In the original trilogy you kinda knew Leia was an embassador, so there had to be a galactic senate or council somewhere and a struggle for power with the empire apparently. They never showed any of it, but you kinda got that backstory. The prequels were maybe too political and a lot more about a corrupt politicians rise to power. But this time around... what is the New Order still doing? Why are these rebels relevant? Are they just chasing them because they want to erradicate the last jedi? Are they still angry because the rebels destroyed their deathstar? It just seems to me there is some backstory missing to make all those battles a bit more meaningful.
Backstory is the biggest problem I have with VII and by extension VIII too. To clarify:
Spoiler:
The planets destroyed in Force Awakens were the capital and seat of power of the New Republic - supposedly, after the destruction of the second Death Star it was set up in such a way, that it moved to a different system every couple of years. That's why it wasn't on Coruscant, like used to, but it did house the senate, most of the Republic's political body, and a good part of its fleet. Therefore, after VII, Republic pretty much ceased to exist as a real political entity. What was left had to face the First Order's advance and it didn't fare all that well, which is why when VIII starts, Snoke is in control of many of the systems and the rest kinda shit their pants and either swore, or considers swearing allegiance to him and the First Order.
The Resistance we see in VII is supposed to be a... private military force, which Leia concocted to keep peace in the galaxy and keep whatever was left of the empire forces in check (she left politics after it became known she's Vader's daughter). Didn't fare that well, considering they allowed them to build a huge, motherfucking interstellar star killer, that pretty much wiped the Republic out in one blow The Resistance we see in VIII is that, plus whoever didn't want to be Snoke's pawn.
That's the gist of it, or at least what I managed to gather from the net, so I can't really guarantee everything is a 100% accurate. It's silly how underinformed your are when you just watch the movies - either of them.
As for the movie itself - I liked it overall. It overturns your expectations at every point, which is kinda nice.
Spoiler:
I don't think there's a single person in this movie who actually managed to do whatever he set out to. Be it a Resistance grease monkey, former stormtrooper, heroic ace pilot, aged Jedi master, or a Sith Lord (?) sitting in the throne room in his bath robe - literally everyone and their dog fucks up in one way or another
Again, I really liked Kylo Ren - Driver did a marvelous job with evolving him without just dropping his every fault and turning him into a stereotypical villain. I also liked what they showed of his backstory, but I wish there was more of it, especially considering one major story turn.
Spoiler:
Sonke's death would've been much stronger if they actually took some time to develop him and highlight his importance and role in what happened to Ben.
I liked Poe this time around too. His evolution was blatantly obvious, but he was still interesting to watch.
Spoiler:
His fuckup count was higher than most
And I really liked Luke.
Spoiler:
The sarcastic old geezer that they made him was hilarious to watch. I think many of the fans must've had a stroke seeing him
Sadly, Rey was, again, the movie's biggest weak point. She was even worse than in Force Awakens where I somewhat liked her - here she's as uninteresting of a Mary-Sue, as you can possibly imagine. Finn didn't move an inch either - he's still mostly comic relief and his whole arc did feel a bit disconnected (despite being, in fact, really important).
There were a few jokes it could really do without. Also a couple of memorable scenes.
Spoiler:
Saber fight in the throne room and hyperspace spaceship ramming especially.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
