The modding community can maybe figure it out when it comes to mods..

i think they've really just stated that it wont have support for mods on consoles.

Base game is good and to play it in VR sounds too good to be true. But I really hope it's good.

Tons of games are only for HTC and works perfectly fine with Oculus.. Also there's probably no modding community as creative as this, so if it doesnt work initially it most likely will in no-time..

I think there's some misunderstanding going on Laughing Fallout VR isn't out yet.. it's also makred as Vive Only - however hopefully the recent SteamVR patch/hack beta update to let Doom work for Rift's will also work for Fallout.

And I'm still highly irritated Skyrim VR is a timed PS4 exclusive Mad - how long that's for is unknown too.

ST-Bridge Crew was on sale recently. Bought it. MP is dead, calling it a ghost town is over-generous. Changing regions didn't help, even in supposed "peak-times". SP alone does not justify even a £20 price-tag. Asked for a refund.

A real shame, what little I played in solo looked like something that would be AMAZING in multiplayer. Alone it's too fiddly to manage everything. In MP I guess you can just tell others what to do, in solo you have to bring up menus and sub-menus to tell the AI what to do. Meh.

It was really fun in MP, but the serious lack of mission types, and the lack of any real 'reason' to actually play it past the main story killed this game.

If a game with similar mechanics, but with a more open ended type system and perhaps 'proper' MP, then it would be epic... but right now, it's a sad shell of what could have been a great classic.

I'm this close to buying an OR seeing as the price has come down to £349. Am I best hanging on for the next gen, something with a little more FOV and higher pixel count ? I just can't make my mind up... Confused

Well, right now, smart money is on the Pimax 8k to deliver the next gen, however it's going to be double the cost of the OR.

OR still is arguably the 'best' experience for the cost, but Vive supports better room tracking. Not to say OR's isn't good, but you'll need anouther £55 to buy a third sensor to provide good 360 tracking. (180 tracking out of the box).

Games specifically designed with VR in mind look superb. Games with VR tacked on can look good but not great due to resolution issues. Elite Dangerous, for example, looks ridiculously amazing for a while - but then you notice writing isn's as clear as you'd like at a distance, stars are overly bright and aliasing is distracting.

Regardless of what other people claim, you absolutely NEED a 1070 at the very least. Even my 1080 struggles when you want a little more fidelity. 1080i are supposedly good, but obviously cost more. I have no clue yet to how a 1070i performs.

Windows Reality is still unclear - I don't believe there's any real differnce in the overall quality, but the inside-out tracking is a nice thing.

for the current cost? Assuming you have a good enough rig, I say definitely, it's a great experience, regardless of those who say it isn't - it MIGHT not be for you, but assuming you buy from Amazon or similar, you can always send it back.

Depends on what kind of games you want to play.

If you want to play the typical made for VR games on Steam, you only need a 1060/Fury/980, even a cheap AMD 480 and 290x will do these VR games.

If you want to play VR ports, my 1080 even struggles on those, a 1080 ti wouldn't cut it either for what I would like to do with VR Laughing

Part of the issue is the text like in Elite, but its also that most VR ports just have way too much detail in the graphics and distance that it almost feels bad to play at low game resolution that you need to up the internal resolution.

Then there's the SDE which sucks so badly in VR ports, but barely noticeable in made for VR games due to simple graphics.

At this point unless you are really struggling with money I would get the Pimax or wait for something similar.

Vive/OR feel really dated in Fallout, Doom and other VR game ports to the point I almost don't want to play it and would rather play fruit ninja or something similar that makes the low resolution and SDE less noticeable.

Just purchased the rift package this week for £350.

Never tried VR before.

Never tried 3d games before.

The Rift has blown me away, amazing experience, worth every penny.

(and Ive only got a tiny space to use it).

Feels a bit odd to actually agree with bart but yes, games not specifically for VR have too much small detail. More icons, less text is the way forward usually.

A lot of the Steam VR games are prety crap and crude, and likely designed on Unity, so they'll work on a Voodoo 3DFX card Laughing But if games like Lone Echo and Project Cars 2are anything to go by, you do need a fat GPU, because optimisation can only take you so far.

I just hope within the turn of the decade, we'll see some truly astonishing VR experiences designed by so-called AAA publishers to make full use of VR.

Since all the VR stuff happens here;
I've been having blast with Gorn. A nice small physics enabled arena fighter game.

You choose from a selection of up to 5 random weapons in the beginning and fight against several gladiators wielding random assortment of weapons.

You have small challenges, like kill with axe, kill with sword, double kills, disarms, parries, headshots with a bow etc. which unlock you new weapons. And then you have champion fights where you unlock things like new 'fists' (what you use if you don't have weapons).

I added 3 kg of wrist weights on both of my arms and the game turned into a lot of fun Smile

It prevents some abusive tactics (like swinging your big axes like a berserker - 10 times a second Razz - or you'll at least tire yourself )

Played for few evenings now, despite going to gym 3+ days a week, I get myself totally sore with this game Razz (it's very different activity to lifting weights ofc)

Pimax

Anything else at least at this point seems to be a long way away.
