Unless WB revives the license wouldn't it eventually expire? Granted some of these have like 20+ years before this occurs so yay.
(Well revives and revives but eh refreshes or re-licenses it which I guess wouldn't surprise me jsut so they can have it without actually intending do do a damn with the game rights.)

Are there any good model & texture mods to the NOLF-games?

I haven't played them in a looong time.

Not that I know of (the games have never been very mod-friendly), though they're both perfectly playable on modern systems as long you grab the all-in-one Nolf revival versions (you can achieve the same result by installing patches and tweaks manually, but it's more convenient to have everything ready).

They haven't aged poorly, especially NOLF 2 which still holds up damn well in my opinion:
Screens pls (from my last playthrough)

Bah, can't get NOLF Relive working. After trying every compatibility setting, launcher setting and testing various "solutions" I found in various forums all I get is a "Client MFC blabla"-CTD instantly after a little black box pops up.

Mega-MEH!!!

Relive or Revival? Revival works fine here (Win10/Nvidia).

you need to copy over the widescreen patch.

There should be a folder called "widescreen_patch" and inside is a .7z file, unpack it and move those files into the main dir and overwrite the files there.

Brilliant games - I replayed the first a year or so ago but kind of stopped playing for some reason but it was a blast. The second is even better.

Widescreen can be made by opening the "display.cfg" with note pad and changing the screen size numbers there. Mine is "1920" "1080" Bingo widescreen!

Recently spent a looong time trying to get NOLF and AVP2 to work on Win 10 - was getting the "client-mfc" error.

Finally solved it (for me anyway) - I'll paste my solution below : -

I had to DISABLE every "HID COMPLIANT VENDOR DEFINED DEVICE" in device manager to get NOLF AND AVP2 to work.

I had about 6 of these in device manager , through process of elimination I know now that there is ONE of these I need to disable to get both games to work.

Compatability settings etc make zero difference to me - if this device is disabled , then the games run instantly (only played NOLF for a bit but seems to run fine at 4K)

Edit - for reference, the offending driver is AndroidAFDx64.sys

I disabled the first "HID-compliant vendor-defined device" in the list (which happened to be the Corsair USB controller for my Corsair H100i CPU-cooler). Now it started instantly with no issues whatsoever.

They were just about ready for the re-released version of the first game too or maybe even both the original NOLF's before ownership fuckery screwed everything up and the publisher halted further communication due to uncertainties around who owned what.

Kinda sucks, if they can get it up on GOG though I wonder if this was partially resolved since then although I guess that project is still on hold.

And then Contract JACK as some spin-off shooter thing set in the same game world.

EDIT: Shame this sort of thing doesn't just fall into public domain or something after 5 - 10 years or so, or when the publisher or developer folds. Source data might still be hard to acquire or outright lost though.

Instead it's significantly longer and can probably be refreshed as required.

EDIT: Might be a tad short actually, guess it's a complex issue. Smile

I'll just never understand why companies, who are well aware there's a (big) fanbase for an existing IP, continue releasing other crap.
And worse: tease those same fans that made the company big in the first place. Yeah, as if they didn't realise that poster would give people hope for a sequel. Fuck right off, thank you very much. Mad Rolling Eyes
