Only by using glitches and exploits. Like you could blow yourself up with dynamite in BF1 on Ardennes Forest at some point, your body would fly to a ledge and then the medic on your team could reach and revive you there and then all the squad spawns on that guy running above the enemy and gunning them down.

Well, i apologize.
I got the impression there are cheats available on consoles too as i read in the past.
Though after a quick google-search i didn't really find much for the PS4/Xbone.

I;ve seen some sp gameplay yesterday on giantbomb premium stream... oh god...
This is incredibly bad. The enemies just fucking stay there and shoot. It's so dumb, it's like a light gun game, except bad.
Graphics are ok but whatever. Then there was this space mission in a tie fighter and it was very boring. Not even going to play isodemo.
Jeff was bored as fuck palaing this and said he does not enjoy it.

I just can't get around how good this game and it's predecessor look. The two battlefront games might be the most impressive games around. I can only think of Doom and Wolfenstein which look similarly good. Fuck UE4. Honestly, no game with it looks remotely as good as Id Tech 6 or Frostbite and the latter two run INCREDIBLY well.

XIM4 and VenomX exist for years and have never ever been banned. |
And they're not a perfect keyboard/mouse setup either. Requires some configuration setup first, but it definitely helps. Seems to work better in some games like Overwatch than others.

That is sadly true and probably more than 70+ hours if you are not consistent. Vader is 60K. Luke is 60K. Rest is about 20-40K. Total about 260K credits required and only 50K can be earned via challenges (and no, you cannot reset or replay those). After that, you get only 150-300 credits per match, regardless what you do, which is complete nonsense.
Ignore that 50k from challenges as they are fairly fast and easy to get. Still, you need 200K credits just to unlock heroes.
Each game lasts for 15-20 minutes. At 300c per match, you are still looking at 600+ games. That's about 200+ hours on average. This is if you manage to get max credits every game. If you don't, you are in for a long grind.
The daily challenges are BS as they give you like 100 credits which is nothing...
As long they don't change it or allow people to re-do/rest challenges, the whole system is messed up.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

How many hours did we require back in the day to unlock all weapons in BF3/BF4? Making it skill and unlock based is nice, but this "loot" crate stuff pleases the "gambling" enjoyment of some people. I get it. I don't really like it, but I also don't mind it. If I can reach the stuff that I want by completing challenges, playing for some time and so on, I am actually ok with this. The other way around people would complain that they unlocked everything in 2 weeks. I rather have a game where the DLC will no longer fragment the player base...
Now should EA sell short ways to get the stuff quicker? No. But apparently people seem stupid enough to shill out money... So as long as they don't hide vital stuff behind an additional paywall, I couldn't care less. It's not like they can actually buy the best gun directly...

I agree 100% on this. As long as I can unlock all the important things that alter gameplay ingame, I dont mind a little grind. But if they offer shit for people that pay that the normal people cant get AND its a game changer ( like weapons etc ) then the apocalypse has reached us where full price games become p2w.

Soo... played the first few solo campaign missions.
Battlefront 1 (new one) was dire, as we all know. Graphically superb, as flat as a 1 dimensional pancake.
This one...Yes. This FEELS like Star Wars so far. Having the campaign played out as part of the Empire, it just feels more fun to play than those do-gooder Rebels. The opening cinematic is great, the introduction to your droid-tool is clever and the rest of the level is well paced to get you used to the gunplay.
Space battles are as they were in the beta, obviously with less humans AI are just cannonfodder of course, but so far it feels good - mouse control takes a little getting used to, but it's definitely acceptable.
The final mission is on the moon of Endor, just moments after Solo blows up the bunker. Now, before I say anything about the gameplay, I really need to mention the graphics... they are superb. Lush forest, great textures, no pop-in that I could detect... delicious stuff here. The mission is just your usual shoot everything, but you DO see the Death Star MkII blow up in the sky which is very nice.
The story doesn't go anywhere just yet - but there are a few things that make you sit up and ponder - I shan't spoil them. The demo ends after the mission ends, which sets things up nicely for the full game.
The voice acting, the settings, the cutscenes... everything FEELS like a new SW movie, which is fairly believable and could definitely make sense if it was on the silver screen directly after ROTJ. You can tell the devs have put effort into this - everything just oozes attention to detail.
Compared to CoD WWII, it's in a whole different league.
As for multiplayer - I've not played enough yet, few space battles and ground skirmishes, all feel the same as the beta so far.
All in all... this might be the first SW game in a LONG while to be worthy of dropping some cash to play. The campaign oozes Star Wars, without being samey. The graphics are truly jaw-dropping in places, and the gunplay is pretty good too - I especially appreciate the reloading timer which you just use the mousebutton instead of the reload key.
If you want something that isn't CoD or Bfront 1... give it a look.

Just be aware that you've probably already seen around one third of the "full" game, so don't get too excited.

Yeah it could be fun, but I would caution against people buying it for the SP campaign. Either isodemo it, or just watch it on Youtube. Only buy it if you want it for the multiplayer.

Definitively, especially given the retail price and it being a bit up in the air how popular the online component will be and how well EA and Dice will support it, initial plans don't look too bad though but if the online community doens't have much growth to it or fades away after a few weeks that's not going to help.
EDIT: The grinding for hero characters isn't helping either, something like 40 hours on average to get enough to pick one up from what I've read but apparently EA or Dice is saying they tweaked the values for the early access version but it could just be they'll increase them server-side when the full release happens and it'll just seem like that.

There are 12 missions in all, and I understand more will be made available as DLC? Each mission takes about 30 mins more or less to play, so as mentioned, about 7 hours. Which is about what's expected for this sort of thing - the point is they're well done and don't feel like 'filler'
The sad news is already, aimbots are prolific already It's sickening to see, and it just shows that even after all these years, they simply don't care about trying to fix this issue with virtually all MP PC games

I'm really looking forward to play this game, but this credits bullshit makes me sad. I don't have the time to play hours every day, but I still want to unlock those heroes and all. So I have to use real money for that, fuck that.

I'd rather have season pass than this shit, because in the long run I actually pay more than a 50€ season pass...

Well, it's a major plus that the game doesn't have a season pass. This way you won't split the community. In Battlefront 1 I barely got to play the DLC maps because no one was playing it.

EA's response:
Quote: | Our goal involves creating a compelling progression path for all of our players. There's a lot of content at launch with even more coming via live service, and we'll continuously adjust our progression mechanics to give players a sense of accomplishment as they explore all of Battlefront 2.
Heroes earned through Credits: The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes. We selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.
Credits Earned: We're looking at the results daily and will be continuing to tune this to ensure that players feel a meaningful sense of reward for the time they spend with Battlefront 2.
We appreciate the conversation here, and our team is working to make the best choices possible for the game and the players. We will provide more details and updates as we can |
