The balancing in this game really goes tits up out the window when one hits high 20's/low 30's. EVERYTHING 2 or 3 shots you (with max upgraded breastplate). The heavy guys, if they get their first swing to hit, will kill you in one combo.

Fighting more than one guy at a time isn't really feasible unless you spam the upgraded smoke bombs. Doesn't help that the camera fucking blows. and most of the time you'll get hit by attacks you can't even see from some guy off screen.

And you better hope you don't get set ablaze...because your character will run around aflame till he fucking dies, rather than rolling in the dirt a bit. Hell, even water won't save you from fire damage. I guess Egyptians soaked all of their garbs in kerosene back then? Very Happy

Does the game has raw mouse input or it's the same laggy / smooth mouse shit all over again?

Here knock yourself out:
https://cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2017/09/displacement_study.pdf
(only 300 pages)

Did you read it? How do you feel about a study with a 45 per cent margin of error when it talks about games specifically? Would you take a pill if a doctor told you "it won't kill you, with a 45 per cent margin of error"? Does that sound like reliable data to you?

When linking to something, take the time to read it first.

Are You Serious

What difficulty are you playing on? I'm on normal at lvl 28 with full still two upgrades left on the breastplate and one of those heavy combos does not kill me.

As far as multiple guys, the dodge button is great for that, esp. against heavies.

You need to repeatedly do the dodge option to put out fires. It mentioned that early on.

Its not dumb as its the truth in most cases. I dont rely on using hyperboles, so i wont say its the case every time, just for the most part. Why buy something you get for free, unless owning the game gives you extra features you want?

When eas the last time you bought a movie? I bet you cant even remember. Its naive to think game piracy is any different.

Hard. Most developers don't seem to understand that one-shotting doesn't make something hard, it makes it fucking stupid. At the very least, if his two handed axe can one shot me, mine should be able to do the same.

That doesn't work too well when most of the additional enemies are either behind you or to the side. Hell, at this level, even the heavies throw javalines. So, more or less everything has ranged attacks. This would be fine, if the camera wasn't so fucking zoomed in.

Totally missed that tip then. Boy, that would have been helpful to know about 15 hours beforehand. Thanks! Very Happy

Pff, Y'all act like kids.

You guys haven't even been born, when we had to wait a year or 2 for a Starforce or some uber SecuROM protected games to be cracked lol.

Or throttling CPU to make a game run and when Daemon Tools was actually still needed to run a lot of stuff ^^

Oh, the good times we had.

I remember disabling IDE controllers in BIOS and using some Starforce Nightmare tool so I could make the SFCLONE iso work (mounted on Alcohol virtual drive)

Starforce would refuse to use a SCSI drive if it detected an IDE drive. That's how I was playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory 1.05

But then with Securom Online and other online activation protections those were a thing of the past, it's cracl or nothing nowadays, hard times for crackers.

31 years old, I missed most of the truly fun stuff with physical copy protections but I remember some of the later ones from 90's adventure games and such though they were toned down a bit to mostly looking up info in the manual without code ciphers or in-game verification questions. (Hi Larry! Razz ) Back before full constant fiber connection too or even a reliable 56k connection so no looking up some of these online either ha ha.

Star-Force and needing to physically disconnect the disc drive was crap though, runtime "support" driver in SecuROM and Tages too and who the hell know what those actually did.

EDIT: SSI and Gold-Box games having all the lore and documentation in the manual, in-game you just get something like "Your character notes this down in his journal as entry #13" guess that wouldn't fly these days.

I did like Troika sticking all sorts of info into the Arcanum manual though, nothing required but a lot of racial info and background for the game world, not just a 1 page super thin pamphlet on the default key bindings. Very Happy

Hah the classical code wheel, imagine having to look up some verification code via that these days, downside is of course that nearly every game requires online activation and a net connection of some sort and Denuvo is even expiring after a set period of time (3 - 5 days generally, longer for some games for up to a week or so.) requiring a constant re-activation.

EDIT: Though at least you don't need some special tool or support contact to deactivate a license or a hard set cap of a maximum amount of allowed licenses total for the lifetime of the product, that was complete crap.

That codewheel was an awesome copy protection back then. Also some other games had it.

A game called "Zool" had a similar copy protection too, but with numbers i think.
As i had that game as a copy only from someone else, i didn't had the needed decryption tool. Yet by pure luck i got through the prompt on like the third try. I then kept playing it for several hours, so i wouldn't need to input a code again. Laughing

I remember Budokan (Martial Spirit) to have a mini game at the very beginning to correctly select some Japanese symbols, otherwise the training rooms were empty. Coming to think of it it might have been a copy protection Very Happy I only had a pirate copy Smile

I was curious about this absurd information that the crack is already there and only for the VIP section
