Hey guys, so I dropped a MacBook Pro (the one that came out just before they added this touchscreen row, 14th generation?) and it fell flat on it's back hinge while the laptop lid was closed. As a result the left corner on the hinge is dented by ~1mm.
Green: general impact area
Red: The area that has a dent
When I opened the lid the system seemed to came back but there was a ton of pixel noise on the screen together with some artifacts. I was able to reboot the system but it would freeze after logon, while the small pixels kept moving and changing colors. Later on the pixels all disappeared but when I put the computer to sleep mode and opened the lid back again, the screen stayed black with the backlight (and apple) being lit. I forced a shutdown of the laptop.
Now every time I try to start the laptop the following happens:
I press the power button, I hear the mac start sound, but neither the apple nor the screen turn on. If I press the caps lock button I can see the green light turning on/off. When I enter the correct password and press enter the backlight turns on (including the apple) but nothing else happens, the screen stays dark apart from the glow of a screen that is on but with no data to display.
I tried resetting some things but pressing P + R + CMD + Apple button (or however this is done), charging the laptop while doing so and similar things to no success. The only thing I achieved was that the startup volume is now super loud.
Help? Is the mainboard fucked?

Another thought would be (assuming you don't have applecare and if your laptop is new enough) to see if you could purchase an aftermarket warranty (like squaretrade) and then turn in the damage to the warranty in a week. Depends on if you're bought the laptop within the last year..

As some said, I hope it's just a loose cable. Apple service took 50€ to just check what's wrong with it Now let's wait for the result.
