So I just played along a bit, this has not been retconned.
 Spoiler: | After the first couple of assassinations you do lose your ring finger during a struggle while using the hidden blade. So maybe, since you actually play before Altair, when the Assassins guild was founded they turned that missing finger into a ritual? |

Is it me or the fov slider is kind of useless as the only setting worth while is all the way up...loll
I would of made the max setting to half of it so we could of adjust even further!

Do they at least numerically label it, or is it one of those worthless ones that's just a blank bar lacking any indication as to what you're setting it to?

Got it on plati for 2 bucks, trying to decide if it's worth the asking price for the full game. Performance is not that great, getting 50-70 fps (around 40 in cutscenes) on high settings/1440p with a GTX980ti and an i7-4790K, looks nice most of the time though. Of course it wouldn't be Ubisoft without some annoying bug, in my case missing dialogue sound when I want to use my G933 headset.
Gameplay is fine, combat seems more fun than in previous games, didn't get around much yet but the setting is really interesting. Don't know, could be one of the better AssCreeds.
