I really really really really really hope space shit in Infinity Wars keeps this colour palette.
Like fuck... I keep rewatching the trailer and love the use of colours.
Thank fuck for that Troma director.
James Gunn of the GotG films is the old Troma guy, Taika Waititi director of this film is from Flight of the Conchords.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
What is up is that both have too much CGI?? I didn't say it in the Ready Player One thread because it makes perfect sense there, it's a VR world (also it looks pretty well done stylistically).
I don't know where this shot takes place, but it absolutely isn't our, *real*, world:
Spoiler:
therefore I feel entirely disconnected from it.

These are high spectacle comic book movies so of course they're going to be filled with loads of CGI.
There is *always* going to be a disconnect because there are no flying aliens or world ending blue light machines etc. in the real world. Especially in this film as it is set on a fictional god world or something
And yes, there is a lot of dubious CGI going on nowadays with these films relying way too much on them but then
I can imagine the practical effects would be way too expensive and time consuming.
Some do it better than others, and I'm not talking just about the quality of the effects, but also their style.
That shot even if it was done practically it would still be problematic. To me it communicates Aquaman has impenetrable skin if he can drop through an entire building like that (and yes I know he didn't come in direct contact with the concrete, still, certainly debris hit him and just think about the force of impact when his feet touched the ground). Therefore I will not take him seriously if he is ever shown as taking cover or if a blade grazes his skin - how can that possibly happen after what they showed us?
The thing is because it's difficult to do it practically, that shot wouldn't be done in the first place, therefore no disconnect would be caused to my poor brain! But with CGI you can do everything you wish, even if your idea is bad.

Seems like Marvel gets another 90+ certified fresh movie, RT sofar:
98%
Average Rating: 7.9/10
Reviews Counted: 54
Fresh: 53
Rotten: 1
Critics Consensus: Exciting, funny, and above all fun, Thor: Ragnarok is a colorful cosmic adventure that sets a new standard for its franchise -- and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Best Thor movie and one of the best Mcu movies seems to be the consensus so far.
Gonna have to wait for the usual initial wave of praising and positive comments from early movie-goers to calm down before the real trusty humper reviews to start appearing. The story has repeated itself too many times already for me to fall in the trap

Are you saying the people praising it in this thread now are blind fanboys?
It's like a movie for kids the Rock guy is Jar-Jar binks, plus the theater was full of kids laughing at the lamest jokes I have ever seen as most of the money went to CGI they hire cheap-ass actors like in new Star Wars..
6/10 - proly the worst superhero movie I've seen clearly meant for kids and not bearded macho men.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
