Release Date: 27/10/2017

Quote:
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon takes place in a fictional, demon-ridden Western European city towards the end of the 19th century. The story focuses on a knight protector named Alushe and her two childhood friends – Liliana, a kind-hearted priestess, and Ruhenheid, a holy knight of the Lourdes Order. While guarding Liliana, Alushe is ambushed and killed only to later awaken as an artificial half-demon at the hands of the New Curia, a religious organisation with dark ties. In the company of a variety of unlikely allies with their own pasts and agendas, Alushe’s strong desire to save Liliana gives her the strength to scatter the shadows shrouding the world and motivation to uncover the shocking truth behind the mysterious Queen of the Moon.

GUST has been going at it for years going by their release history though for the new console generation games (And these PC ports.) it kinda feels almost like the first installment was something of a prototype and then they refined it into something more complete for the sequel.

Atelier Sophie -> Atelier Firis and from what I've read the same is true here for Nights of Azure -> Nights of Azure 2 although for this particular game the first NoA was very, very rough relying on almost endless fetch quests and basic grinding as you moved through one quest event after another when reaching certain milestones or triggers.

...Which is pretty similar to Atelier Sophie actually though they had a bit more game content for it.
(Sure it's a JRPG and that generally entails some grinding but damn if Nights of Azure and Atelier Firis didn't push this to the extreme grinding for levels, items, events and then there's the crafting part and getting the exact traits and combinations you need and more. Very Happy )

Will be interesting to hear how the sequel will turn out, there's also the upcoming Blue Sky but from what I've heard so far it seems it's going to be a bit basic too but eh, might be worth a download and check at least. (Err..for the plot of course. Razz )

EDIT: Quality wise I suppose it's going to be hard to match the games of the mid-90's to early -2000's for a variety of reasons though, there's a couple of games that manage to exceed expectations but it feels like there's less risks taken now and they're more careful or how to say, not sure how to best explain but eh I guess that goes for anime and manga too and not just games and on a broader extent most of the entire game industry perhaps.
(Partially probably due to the amount of money involved in some of these projects and then there's the broader market and exposure these days or well yeah not sure how to best try to explain.)

Anyways, will be interesting to see how the game holds up when it's released, might still be worth a download at the very least. Smile

Is anyone else playing thi? I gave the idosemo a burl the other day and may even buy the game - if vid lag cane be sorted. ATM lag/jerkiness makes the game unplayable IMO.
I found a reference somewhere that claims most GUST games suffer from this drop & recommending to force vertical sync and turn off hardware encoding.
I decided to quit stayin across arcane tech stuff when I hit age induced decrepitude & was no longert paid to keep up with it all. It doesn't take long to forget stuff which you only had a peripheral knowledge of anyhow - which is me explaining that forcing vertical sync was easy but turning off nvenc or whatever, just for one game has me beat. In fact turning off hardware encoding per se has me somewhat perplexed since I cannot recall turning it on.
I'm currently using a vanilla 1080 and a i7 4790k with enough ram vid drivers are 387.92
The rig has performed well, this is the first time I have had to do more than install a game since I built the system last year.

If anyone has had this issue with GUST games & resolved it, I'd appreciate any solutions.

@zellar For me the stutter makes it unplayable. Even tho it's lkely to get a bit better further in when they'll likely be less citscenes, I wanna sort the stutter out before I get right into it.
