I just did the update, and now none of my win 10 games will launch, this includes GOW4 forza horizon 3 and forza 7.. any tips?...

mh no clue
but try reinstallling the nvidia driver. everything worked fine for me after the update but i reinstalled them nevertheless and even the nvidia installer hasnt detected any driver installed (cant say i forza worked or not, dunno if i ran it before reinstalling the drivers ,but fifa worked fine for example)

It's always a good habit to wait at least until the microdust settles, potential soft fuckups gets fixed and things become stable before entering the minefield when it comes to such updates (just like it happened the last time). I'll push the button too one day, just..not now, can't quite afford being a guinea pig.

Yep I usually wait a few months before each Redstone release. However I seem to have no choice as no matter what it takes a while for it to show up in Windows Update.

I just updated to the new Windows 10 Fall Creators update and it broke most of my Steam game icons. What is weird it did not break all the icons but most of them and I am not sure how to fix them.

you could try deleting the icon cache -> https://www.howtogeek.com/232779/how-to-rebuild-a-broken-icon-cache-in-windows-10/
If that doesn't do it you can manually fix the shortcuts by just right clicking on the shortcut, open properties and choose change icon.
The exe file in the steam library normally has the icon embedded in it.

Got the update, no major issues yet. Monitor color profile was messed up somehow though, did the display calibration wizard and all is fine again. Really weird, seems like Windows brightness or contrast was set too low.

I could not find a fix and im short on time, and since most ppl here just say "durr durr never install on first day" i eventualy formated and i am downloading forza again to see whats up.
I installed this update in hopes to fix the stuttering that was prevelant in the last creators update, so by the logic of some here, we should never EVER update. lol.

i can't install the new Windows 10 Fall Creators update, after installing it windows just gets to the welcome screen and keeps on looping the welcome screen never getting in to windows, i have to reinstall windows again for it to work.

If you have to reinstall whole Windows again then why don't you just download the latest iso from MS site?

Clean booted Version 1709, Build 16299.19, then activated with KMSPico Nova's portable.
Installed it this fast since I won't have the time later on.
Will report any potential fuckups.

Also, one can use the Media Creation Tool from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
and then download the latest Windows 10 ISO of 3.54 GB. After download has finished, use Rufus to make the image USB bootable.
And then successfully boot install from there, saying I don't have a key.

Tried to turn off touchpad, keyboard and handwriting stuff, no luck, even after reboot.
Disabling TabletInputService did the trick, its the only way it seems.
The process is not heavy on memory at all, but it is strange to see it there since i dont see it on background processes, since Windows XP maybe? and now is back? wtf?

Well, i can close Opera everytime i want, no problem, and i have 16gb of Ram.
When i took that print screen i had like 5 separate pages open, and for me opera is way more simple and quicker then any browser out there (imo).
I just want to be able to close all the useless processess when i want to play games.

for some stupid reason you need to activate/deactivate the game mode through the gamebar... (but it seems if you deactivate the gamebar its set to off anyway, started a few games with the bar active (have it deactivated normally) and in none the gamemode was active, not even in first party store titles like forza 7)

apparently you dont know how it works. it sure creates current isos with the 16299.15 build, BUT only if you download the new version of it. if you stored the mct on your harddrive it builds the older version from the time you downloaded the tool (and yes thats a bit crappy)

Any idea what causes chrome to stop playing any video when I minimize it? This is just bad... why would they even "update" windows like that
