Let's hope for the best, I don't realistically expect it to be anywhere near the classics, since that's a formula which is incompatible with the accessibility that tainted their recent games - punctually designed around the pad - though having a signature nuPiranha title full of explorative surprises that tries to mimic the past without being insulting (the important bit) would already be more than enough for me.

Facing angry dinoboars whilst trying to fetch robochickens's eggs for the cleric flat elex society minister would have its charm on paper grinhurt

The UI looks like some custom designed WoW "minimalist" UI you could find on Curse (probably still can) designed by amateur.

Previously their UI's looked the complete opposity, dirty and ugly. It's too clean now somehow.

I guess it fits with the theme though, old clunky Risen/Gothic world combined with SciFi shit.

The big thing is if the world feels living and cool like the old Gothic games, and if it has a soul. I can give a pass to the massive janky gameplay feeling in that case.

I really wish them well, been watching the dev videos on their youtube channel. Seem like a cool bunch and only like 30 people. Hopefully they didnt fuck it up, but it doesnt seem so, judging by the first review/impressions.

More like they shoot for the classic ol' diamond in the rough / hidden gem, European-style-unpolished-game-that-sells-barely-enough-to-avoid-bankruptcy.

That... 'modern' interface is hideous. Slap on top the overused Agency font (famous for being used in Crysis) and you got yourself a big pile of amateurish work...

The more videos I watch of this ... the more hyped I am.

This is exactly the type of RPG I'm looking for now. Challenging, rough around the edges, janky. But with a soul.

For me, Andromeda was the worst: soulless piece of shit SJW game with zero character. This seems like the opposite in most ways.

Watched an hour and am really hyped. I could not believe the words "map bigger than G3 map", but it does seem huge.

If the gameplay is at least simlar to G1/2/3 and Risen(1 more than 2 and 3), then this game+hardest possible difficulty = no worries about what to play for a few months... Very Happy

So hyped.

last piranha bytes game I played and liked was Risen, kinda skipped on Risen 2 and 3.
