A biy unclear on the subject. Considering the new wave of uhd movies, i’m looking to buy a proper HDD to connect to my ks7502’s onebox. Problem is afaik all these tvs support usb2.0 max which means they might not have enough power to handle usb 3.0 devices according to what i read.

Also the idea would be to be able to play 60-80mbps bitrates whereas in usb 2.0 i notice most would mention 20-40 mbps speeds.

Dont care bout size, can even be 500gb, just want to know what you’d recommend given the situation. Maybe even personal experience if you happen to have a ks series tv?

Thanks

My personal experience would be a S905X box behind your TV and then connect some powered USB HDD to that? Install LibreElec on it and you are set, get nice sorted libraries with Kodi and stuff.
I like things organized and all that.

Or you can just use Universal Media Server to stream from PC to TV directly and just buy a HDD in your PC. If you don't fancy libraries and stuff that you would get with those TV Boxes.

Those are what I have used/use, don't really see the need to install a HDD behind my TV when I can just stream directly from my PC.

Yeah using ums atm via direct cable to my tv (wifi wasnt fast enough). Seems to be working fine for the new 4k rips but on lala land ( think it had 70mb/s and was the first hdr release or so ) it stuttered even with that.

Anyway found an old external hdd that i had from ages ago and it works perfectly. Cheers Smile
